    Bob's Lady Shredmore

Good save, I had one of these LKs way back in 87 when I worked at Sears and bought a customer returned set.  Nice washer all around.     It's been too long since we've seen you Bob, that beard threw me for a second.  Looking good!

    Home Again

Congrats on getting all of your collections back with you in your new home.  Nice looking house as well, glad you're getting settled in after a few years of moving around.  We'll have to have a midwest gathering soon and welcome you "home."  Enjoy your having your familiar things near...

GE Mobile Maid, $25, FB Marketplace

That was my grandmother's dishwasher, but with a white (lightly textured?) lid.  Hers had the chute type det. dispenser.  She must have discovered the timing-design flaw as she always popped lid and added more detergent after that first fill drained.  Hers had no pressure release/bypass...

    Ever seen this lint filter?

I also have one in its original box - did we find those at Modern Parts House?    John is right, they take up a lot of room in the tub but are very cool to watch.  Speed Queen had one that came standard with many models over the years.  SQ also had one with a softener dispenser ring around...

    POD 3-10-2024 Maytag SAVASUDS system

I remember lots of 'saving suds' laundry, my grandmother's sister had one.  They lived on a farm with a well.  Though modern enough equipment; pump, air-tank, softener and water heater, they still had to use water sparingly.  During times of drought, the well would run poorly and even at...

    old speed queen question

This is from a commercial Speed Queen washer, it will work with with any of the solid tub agitators.

bought this last friday and came today

This is from a KitchenAid washer, earlier model, probably late 80's.   Your collection is growing, this is a good one to have.

Easy Spindrier shown in "Driving Miss Daisy"

This was only one room of Miss Daisy's kitchen/pantry/laundry. It looked like a wonderful space to work in.  I seem to remember a Chambers gas range in the main kitchen.   In the late 30's, Consumer Reports declared the wringer washer obsolete as there were far more convenient options...

Resurrecting a 1964 Whirlpool Top Loading Dishwasher, Pristine, Except...........

It's mint!   Very nice pictures of a really neat machine.  I've only seen one of these WP top loads in the wild, a neighbor bought one used for $10 and it turned out it had a bad timer (motor) and "won't stop running."

Presenting the 1961 RCA Whirlpool Ultimatic. Another Gyromatic Production

It's always a treat to see machines that John has restored, they take your breath away.  I can't wait to see this one in action, he's outdone himself again.

    1974 Kenmore “Green Beast” Rebuild

Looks beautiful, big hurdle to get over.

Vintage 1972 home with two kitchens

Saw a TikTok of this home last week, agent walked through the whole house.  Spectacular home for its time.  There were two baths near the pool, one had a GM Frigidaire Skinny-Mini.   Not sure about the location but the listing is tagged as "Pending" so someone sees value.

Speed Queen Front Loader owners . . . cleaning results?

I have two SQ front-loaders, a 2004 model and a 2017 version (larger door and ball-balance system).  Do you know when the used SQ you're looking at is from?  The newer the better, that ball-balance ring at the front of the drum is excellent, never fails to spin fast and smooth.     I...

    Holy turquoise!

This is a pretty one, such good shape.  Congratulations.     This was the first "vintage" washer (and dryer) I had, my brother had a friend selling the set for $20.  He told it me it was "blue" and this was what we picked up.  It was missing hinge balls and had a broken right panel...

    LG WT 7400CW , 7405 or WT 7150CW

Looks like a well appointed washer, reviews are pretty good overall and I know a couple of people personally who are very satisfied with their LG top-loaders.   New York Times' Wirecutter section (product testing & review) recommends the LG 7500 top-load, though they like front-loaders...

    Windowed Inglis Royal Dryer

I have the gas, RCA Whirlpool version of this dryer.  It's a great dryer, I added some folded felt seal around the air/exhaust intake to help with the airflow pattern.  Not sure it makes a big difference but it's a very accurate dryer and nicely cooled when finished. The biggest appeal is...

    NEW Kenmore Dishwasher Arrives

Here it is!  Have used this dishwasher once in a while, should probably use it more often.  Love the sounds, takes me right back to our kitchen when I was 8, ear to the door.   Proof of life pics:  1. Nov. 2022 cleaning up Thanksgiving.  2.  Storing Boontonware
