About 4.5 years ago (November 2019), I put all my appliances in storage. My now ex and I had sold our house and moved into our motorhome. In April of 2021, we separated and I moved into an apartment. In May of 2022, I moved from Phoenix, Arizona to Austin, Minnesota and bought a house. The appliances stayed in Arizona. After having paid for storage on them for over 4 years, most recent was $320 a month, I now finally have them all with me in Minnesota. Currently in the garage, but will be moved to the basement.
Originally, I was going to rent a uhaul truck and drive it from Phoenix to Minnesota, but the rental alone was $3,000. That doesn't include gas. So I changed my plan. I drove my truck from Minnesota to Arizona. My grandfather had a 6x12 flatbed trailer, he gave to my dad. The trailer was in Arizona and needed to be taken to Minnesota. I picked up that trailer and loaded it up with about 10 washers and dryers, threw stuff in my truck and drove to Minnesota. Got home and unloaded it into the garage. Next day, I got a 6x12 enclosed uhaul trailer and hauled it to Arizona, while my dad followed me in his truck, hauling theorem trailer. Got to Arizona and loaded up everything onto the two trailers and headed home. Did all that in 2 weeks.
The first picture is of my house I bought.
The second picture is of the larger garage. The black Thunderbird got moved to the single stall garage and my appliances are currently in that spot.
The third and fourth pictures are of the appliances in storage, shortly after I put them there, in 2019.
The fifth and sixth pictures are of the same storage unit, when I began to unload it in March of this year.
The seventh, eighth, and ninth picture are of the first trailer load full.
The tenth and eleventh pictures are of the second load on the flatbed trailer.
The twelfth picture is of the load in enclosed trailer. I did add more to the trailer, it was fully loaded. But it was stuff my grandfather was giving to me and or my dad, that was coming back to Minnesota too.
The plan is to get them all down into the basement, where I can use them, display them and work on them.
