The Washer is an A500 "Super Highlander" The Dryer an DE500. I purchased these last November and never got around to hooking them up after finding my Frigidaire 1-18 Imperial!There is just no more room left in my laundry area now with the shredmore and 1-18 in service. I am willing to sell them...

I got lucky with this washer, no leaks whatsoever! It looks to have lower use than most. So are there any Frigidaire experts out there that might have an idea when they switched over the motor design? BTW, I am still looking for the plastic lens for the light, (the original is age cracked.)

Mine has the three speed motor, could that be why it's different from the open types?

That was going to be my question next! My 1-18 manual from 1970 shows the same motor as mine, my machine was built in 1974. However, I had a 1976 and also a 1978 1-18 and they both had the non-serviceable motors. Maybe sometime in 1975 they switched over? Anyone know if this is true?

Thought i'd share a couple pics of the 1-18 with her skirt off! I think this one is in pretty good condition for the age. It works great still, and am working on a wash video next.

Thanks Matt! That would be great if you can find the lens. Mine has many small cracks in it, looks like the plastic has "dried" out and become brittle. Maybe from bleach?

Does anyone have the phone number or address of the appliance store mentioned a while back, that was still selling the old frigidaire replacement parts?

Yesterday while going through Craigslist, I found a listing for an "older washer" for $60. I clicked the post, and found they attached a picture. I could'nt believe it when I saw a Frigidaire WCI! Needless to say, I was over there within 30 minutes to pick it up! I sadly had to sell my Poppy...

As far as any history on my jukes, I have none! Every time I pick one up, I ask the person if they know anything about it's history. Each time I get "I don't know" or "it was in a bar" Most likely because these things get handed down so much, the story gets lost by the time it reaches the 3rd or...
