OK Who Has Never Seen One of These Before?

Were all Norge burpolators that noisy <br How *did* a burpolator work, anyway? Was there a pump under the agitator or something?

    Hello Everyone

Hmm. I try collecting women too, but everytime I have one and I get another, it turns into a big mess :(

    never seen a spray rinse

My parent's old GE used to have a spray rinse from hell. For whatever reason,m the thing REALLY dumped water in during fill, and the spray rinse was noisy and full of water. The new Kitchenpool has a wimpy spray rinse after rinse, and does it while spinning at like 200 rpm. It then kicks into a...

    unbalanced load handling

My parent's early 70's Filter-Flo got off balance at times, but never went for a walk. Just a lot of thunk thunk thunk, and the lid getting airborne. The GE oven we had at the time would every now and then pop a heating element, and WOW, have you guys ever had that happen to you? It's *scary*

    Vacuuming Refrigerator Condenser Coils

I suspect that 'no vacuuming needed' is because manufacturers figured people hated doing it, and it made the thing last longer anyway... Kinda like how Muntz used to advertise their TVs didn't have a fine tuning control, implying it wasn't needed. Well, it wasn't that, it's just that getting...

    Dishwasher Tragedies

When I was living in an apartment in Hartford, I had a dishwasher. I had always heard you shouldn't use Dawn in a washer (my dad says filling the washer with Dawn was a popular gag in FDNY...). Anyway, one day I was pretty bored and had nothing to do, so I decided to dump some in and see what...

    Ok....What's a 'beam deasign' machine?

When the Speed Queen and Hotpoint discussions come up, I'm always seeing references to a 'beam design' or 'beam machine'. What exactly does this mean? I gather it's a transmission design - was beam the guy who created it, or the manufacturer, or was it a description od how they worked? Further...

    Frigidaire 1-18 comment/GE question

Ok, my parent's old Filter-Flo made this HORRID grinding noise going into spin, the went away after a few seconds - that was the clutch, right? Anyways, if it's running and popping the thermal, I think the start switch tends to get sticky on these things, and that'll keep it on the start...

    GE NON-FilterFlo Set

Ok, I give up. how does the 2 speed clutch on the older ones work? I sorts remember the later 2 speed clutch - the one on my mom's old GE flaked out in the late 80's, but I remember how it would start out slow for a few seconds, then click into regular speed. I think the bearing for plate the...

    GE reinvents the dishwasher...

Woo :) Newbie here! Hey, longtime listener first time caller (though I'm floating around Audiokarma a lot). Ok I'm looking at the pictures of the machine cut away, and it's got a vertical shaft motor and a pump that looks vaguely like a kitchen aid or my grandma's old Modern Maid (!). But my...
