    New Compact Cuisinart Refrigerator

Hmmmm....... So a Whirlpool AND a Fridgidaire BOTH exploded? BOTH being recent models? And it's mentioned that instances like these have had the same problems? What's going on here with "modern" appliances?? I'll stick with my fine running 1980s R-12 fridge!

    Christmas tree and lights

I've got a whole bunch of Christmas albums, along with CD's, some I burned from downloads. I've got more than enough to play. One of my favorites is Brenda Lee's "walking around the Christmas tree" CD, but they all are enjoyable.

Well, the actual model is of two different sets. The cabinet was from a 1962 RCA Victor 1VF246, budget model, and the radio//amp chassis is from a 1963 RCA Victor 3VF619 high-end model. The record changer is from a mid-1960s KLH system, also modified. However, being the electronics service guru...

    Most Maddening Washer Commerical

Over my dead corpse will I ever be forced to use some "modern" machine! I'd sooner pound my clothes on a rock by the nearby Delaware river. 😈

    Most Maddening Washer Commerical

There's an old 1950s video of a Frigidaire WO-65 - the one with that up-down agitator with a goblet of water on the top. - the original wine glass trick.

Haiers new Fisher and Paykel top loader

Watching that machine video in action.......WHAT!....in the HELL!..... is that thing??? That's not a washing machine! That thing's some kind of a joke! And people would actually invest their money in such a PATHETIC contraption like that? It doesn't even fill with enough water to allow those...

    Most Maddening Washer Commerical

Ya know Chet, I could do that wine glasses trick on top of my A482 and those glasses would survive with no problems. I've had heavy loads in the machine, blankets, drapes, etc, and felt the spot where those glasses are - barely, if any, vibration during spin cycle. I'm not lying, the machine...

Try to get any info or answers from Samsung Customer Service! Good luck with that! Being such a big coporation, they've gotten to the point that they can easily crap on your world without a care! I've dealt with them enough to know, when attempting to get a customer's broken TV, or DVD player...

    Most Maddening Washer Commerical

Such a controversial thread this is! As per the original title of this thread, "Maddening Washer Commercial", I have to add my own two cents and say that advertising-commericals are always "glorified" in their product presentation. They have to be, of course, in order to sell their product...

    1983 Whirlpool

Not sure, perhaps someone else here can help with that. A model number would help, along with what agitator it uses (photos?)

I suppose it's the reason why you stick with the lactate free milk, eh?

Whirlpool and Samsung are reducing the maximum spin speed on their washers

That operating condition of a "smart" dryer is utterly rediculous and utterly over-complicated. - and likely prone to some damned electronics issue. All that crap Just to dry clothes? My Maytag DG482 dryer is naturally the "traditional" design.... a motor, a belt, and a basic mechnical timer...

No, but if you eat enough beans then it's possible.

Whirlpool Slogans: "The Power To Get More Done" "Quality, Our Way Of Life" HAHAHAHAHA!

    1983 Whirlpool

Just a small ring of sealer around the base opening so that when the hose flange is slipped in, its flange presses down on the sealant.
  17. phillymatt53

    1983 Whirlpool

I'd put a ring of silicone caulk around the bottom of that hose flange to make sure it won't leak again. I don't trust those dry, pressure-fit designs. Like my Kitchenaid dishwasher had that style of hose coupling, which started leaking last year. Some hi-temp gasket sealer - voila, no more leaks.

Whirlpool and Samsung are reducing the maximum spin speed on their washers

Thank you! I read your somwhat lengthly posting, and conclude that it's certainly true what's been going on in the manufacture of just about everything these days. I've highlighted several key points of it, because it triggers my own feelings about stuff. And yes, "fooling the public" has gotten...

    Christmas tree and lights

Yep!, I took it with me when I moved, and kept it all these years. The thing's made of sturdy steel, weighs about 15 pounds, and the wideness of it gives it great stability. Plus it can handle up to a 5 inch tree trunk. - and the bowl holds plenty of water. (although I use it with my pre-lit...
