    Many Problems with LG Dishwasher

Eugene, We did buy ours around the same time. I got mine at a tent sale, and the only reason I bought it was that it was marked down from $1500 to $579! And I thought it was a nifty machine with a huge capacity! They discontinued these machines last year and replaced them with a less expensive...

    Many Problems with LG Dishwasher

I had a problem with my LG 9810 where the filter had actually calcified, so much so that water could not pass through it sufficiently to clean. I used CLR to clean the filter, which sits directly under the wash arm. The problem was caused by excessive detergent use, as found in the detergent...

GM seeks to cancel contract with WCI

Perhaps they've been reading the posts on this website and finally realized just how much of their old stuff is still around and washing??? Hell, just look in Robert's basement.

What are the best new models for a large family?

Look at one of the new GE tall tub machines...huge capacity, excellent cleaning, quiet, and reasonably priced. You don't need to go to the high end models to get something good as they are expensive. Was very happy with my old one. It all depends what you want to spend, really.

    "Rude" Wal Mart Employees

Let's face it, it's a trade off....low prices, mediocre to lousy service in many cases. There are some good ones..I got one who sold me my hi def DVD player who couldn't have been nicer (or cuter), so they are out there. Rare, but there.

    Sen. Edward Kennedy passed away.....

He was a decent man, not a perfect one, but a decent man who gave a crap about people.

    "Rude" Wal Mart Employees

Well look at what they hire at Wal-Mart!! I mean, let's talk about the lowest common denominator....current and future government assistance recipients!!

Question for the computer electronics experts here

Many companies that leave their computers on overnight do so because that is when they do updates and/or backups. We use SMS servers to push software at night, do OS upgrades, server backups, etc. These are things we could not do during working hours as they consume network resources at high...

    Utility Rooms

"Now Andrew, every time a guest walks in your kitchen with his shoes on, he is transporting in all kinds of fun stuff such as doogie doo, doggie whiz, male cat "spray", mud, lawn chemicals, decaying bugs and other organic materials. All this above and beyond those lovely imported and domestic...

    Direct Drive Question

Yes, if the timer is not pausing for about 5 seconds between and end of the wash and the beginning of what is supposed to be the drain period, then it is likely that the machine is going right into a spin instead of neutral drain as it's supposed to. If that's working okay, then your problem is...

    Utility Rooms

I certainly don't want my washer and dryer in the kitchen. Having dirty clothes in the kitchen or on the counters is unsanitary, and the lint dust that the dryer creates, even from just cleaning the lint filter, does not belong in the kitchen at all, especially with dishes or food out on the...

    Argument for Gay Marriage

Well, 6 years was way tooooo long to put up with that shit, but it's over now and you have to look forward to a happy future. Marriage certainly isn't everything some think it's cracked up to be either! But at least you're free from that kind of badgering, harrassment and nagative energy! Now...

Should I look for a vintage Kitchenaid dishwasher for my sister??

" If it is big and in the bottom of the machine in plain view, it's a whirlpool. If it's small and down in the sump, it's a Hobart." All of the Superba models through the 23 series place use the small heating coil in the sump, regardless of whether it's a Whirlpool or Hobart machine. The 23...

GE - Made in the USA

Arthur, that's a good point and one that is often overlooked in discussions about manufacturing jobs. Along with the jobs also went the pollution associated with them. Now granted, there are limited, if any, controls in place in countries like China or Mexico, so rampant pollution from...

GE - Made in the USA

China, however, is overseas. I know, I checked the map! GE has water heater, washer and dishwasher models, among other things, that are made in China right now. Won't break my heart seeing those things come back here. They do have other lines of business that operate overseas, so bringing more...

GE - Made in the USA

There's no SPIN about it. It's not as economically feasible to build and ship from overseas due to energy costs, which will continue to rise as world economies recover. If government does not make it tax advantageous to ship jobs overseas, those jobs will come back here. That's been the biggest...

    calypso washers

These machines seem to last quite some time if you take decent care of them. Mine is going on 9 years now, and still going strong. Since I got a 2nd dog, it's been washing the dog's comforters, towels and rugs regularly, in addition to everything else and it's still going, kind of like that...

    POD - August 12, 2009

Those were about some of the finest dishwashers GE ever made. To this day, I never understood why they abandoned that three spray arm design in favor of the dopey pop up tower. Those machines could clean anything, and left no deposits behind.
