    MAYTAG KNOWLEDGE transfer

The silverware blast is an adaptation of the Turbo Zone, Power Scour, Pro Scrub zone dedicated jets found on the Kenmore, Whirlpool and KitchenAid machines respectively. Instead of a pan, pot, casserole scrubbing zone, the Maytag machines with the "Blast", periodically divert all the water...

    Refrigerator w/ non-crescent ice maker

There are several Whirlpool, KitchenAid and Maytag s x s refrigerators that have "small" ice crescent ice makers. The ice crescent is flatter or lower in profile. So much so; there is little need to crush.

    Out of the archives

Love the 1964 spin tube finale........story about the easy loading from the front. "Makes loading easy even when you're wearing your best party dress". I always take my long sleeved shirt off to do dishes and clean the kitchen. Maybe I should wear a dress.

    Latest Thrift Store Find

That's my favorite coffeemaker. Works great...very flavorful coffee. Don't let the wheezing & squealing percolating cycle annoy. It'll grow on you after a while! I don't even bother with a filter. Very few grounds make their way out of the basket. Have fun with it. L.P.

Presenting the In-Sink-Erator Classic Supreme Dishwasher

Yup it sounds like there is not enough water. I confirmed that the full fill level at least should be to the top edge of the filter screen and can reach as high so as to completely cover the screen. As stated, there probably is sediment in the inlet valve screen or perhaps a new valve is in...

Presenting the In-Sink-Erator Classic Supreme Dishwasher

Ralph if I recall; after a full fill, the pool of water in the sump should be up to the rim of or over the top of the fine filter under the hydrosweep. Perhaps someone can confirm with their KD-21 or 22 machine. Knowing this, you'll have a good idea if you have a water level concern. Also...

Presenting the In-Sink-Erator Classic Supreme Dishwasher

Everyone has an opinion. LOL, here is mine ....if it aint broke, don't fix it. Ralph, you've got a really cool dishwasher. If your dishwashing results are to your liking, I would not fiddle with the water valve in an attempt to obtain a deeper purge fill. Keep using good detergent and rinse...

Fans of Final Touch Fabric Softener....

Shane Sarasota here. No more Albertsons or Winn Dixie around. Publix & Walmart dominate the grocery business in the area. Just a few Sweet Bay stores; I will check them out. Thanks for the heads-up. lp

    The Queen is Sidelined...

Don't overlook the power supply to the washer. Check to make sure there is a consistent 110-120 volts to the machine while it is running under load. Sometimes an outlet, circuit breaker or fuse holder can deteriorate; creating intermittant trouble.

My Habitat ReStore find, KitchenAid KDS-20, March 2010.

Ralph if memory serves correctly :-), you can adjust the door springs on the KitchenAid. Have a close look at the stamped steel door spring mounting brackets that are affixed to each side of tank frame support with sheet metal screws. There should be a series of screw holes punched in the...

KitchenAid KDS 17 Superba by Hobart dishwasher

Ralph the KD 20 reset cam is different than that of a KD 17 series machine and not backwards compatible. If memory serves; the KD 20 is a more robust design. lp

Habitat ReStore Find 12/21/10 -- What do you all think?

Seem to recall that the KD21 machines had been around several years before any Whirlpool involvement in 1986.
