Cool 1919 home with some original fixtures

My house... That was built in 1903 is a lot more original then that one is. Every single door is original with glass knob. Almost all my windows still have lead glass panes. I have some original light fixtures, and all the woodwork is original too. The only thing that has really been tampered...

    Hoover Portable Vac

Now, here are.... The pics of the 1962 model 2100 in Garland Green. Hoover Portable Vac

That one is very Nice! It is from about 1973, it is in Regal brown and oyster white. I have that Portable, as well as the matching Power Drive Dial.A.Matic. The first model in Garland green and Pearl White was introduced in 1962, and the Portable ran up until 1978, or even early 1979. I will...

    Found a model 85 Ironrite!

Oiling the gears... Thank you Laundress, that is something I was going to ask about. In the manual, it of coarse says, use only Ironrite oil. Well since the Ironrite company is no longer in existence, what oil should I use? My roll cover is surprisingly in good condition, it does not have a...

    Found a model 85 Ironrite!

Thanks.... It is a real test of quality that it is still working correctly. The manual boasts that Ironrite was founded "25 years ago in 1921", So that would put my Ironrite at 1946. I think in this case, the condition is due to being kept in one laundry room for most, of, or all of its life...

    Found a model 85 Ironrite!

I have wanted one of these for a long time. When I lived at my last place, I simply didn't have the room. But now that I have a large room, that is the beginnings of a proper laundry room, I have officially been on the hunt for one. I finally scored a model 85. I am VERY pleased! It was only a...

So I needed another vintage console HiFi, right?

Thats very nice! The first time I saw a Canadian RCA with a Collaro I was all kinds of confuzzled! LOL.... I have found with the older Collaro changers (made approximately between 194?-1961), the motors have a bad habit of seizing up for some reason. I don't know why a VM motor will still be...

    What is your dream refrigerator!

I have mine.... It is a 1985 Kenmore Kitchen Mate. I absolutely love it! It's big, but not to big, has the porcelain interior, plenty of shelf space, easy to clean, and very repairable! I also love its smart look, with the barn wood decorator covers, and the unusual set in door handles!

I had a Kenmore Spacesaver from 1978 For a short time before my full size Whirlpool.
