Fabric Stripping: Amazing results with STPP and the Miele

LG Out of curiosity, what cycle did you use the most on the LG? Did you leave TurboWash on?

Is there a future for dry cleaning?

Dry Cleaning I highly doubt it, but it seems that the Tide Dry Cleaners in Southwest Ohio are fairly popular. I vaguely remember my parents having a few items dry cleaned. Though, they don't any more. I know my grandparents would take their couch cushions off and take them to the local dry...

What Temperature Is Your AC Thermostat Set To?

Whoa You guys like it warm. Our house is 71ºF during the day, and is turned down to 70ºF right before bed. Even that is too hot for my blood. It is fairly humid in Ohio right now, but has been bearable. I couldn't imagine living in the south right now.

Miele "Jazz" Dynamic U1 Upright Motor Issues

My used HEPA filters have always been dark after using them. Just was wondering if it was either black or covered in any material. I probably need to have mine serviced as well. Wish I could do it at home, though.

Global Wash DW to Tahoe/Point Voyager Conversion?

That's my point.. I would basically make the conversion on my own. Though I do not have all the parts.

Miele "Jazz" Dynamic U1 Upright Motor Issues

S7/U1 My Maverick is pushing 7 years old and has not had any issues. The clean air design should keep the motor free of any debris or potential restrictions of airflow after the 2 filters. Is your HEPA filter looking darker after using the vacuum?

Global Wash DW to Tahoe/Point Voyager Conversion?

Has anyone tried to complete a conversion from a Global Wash machine with a filter, to a Tahoe/Point Voyager? I happened to stumble upon a newer KA with the filter that is having some issues. Instead of having issues with the diverter disc, I have considered just taking the disc out, and using...

Here we go again--the great overloading debate

Overload We currently are using a Roper DD at our new house until the Kenmore is installed, and it takes 9 towels rather easily. For it being the smallest washer I have ever used, it actually takes quite a bit. Though, it could take 10 if the water level actually filled just above the top row...

French door I don't care for them either, and for the exact reasons MattL mentioned.

How Much REFRIGERATOR Does a Home Need

Refrigerator We just moved into a home with an 18 cu ft. Samsung french door counter depth fridge and we hate it. There is little to no storage space in the doors. No water dispenser. Believe it or not, the ice maker doesn't work either. Shocker. I looked to see what would fit, and a standard...

New Bosch 800 series has adjutable zones

Uhh.. Isn't that the purpose of Extra Scrub? Seemingly it adds 15 minutes of wash time and potentially higher temperature and spray pressure to the bottom rack. However, given the new spray arm, certainly it will do the same, but does it stop at the given 'zone' with higher soil level for...

After driving the same car for 16 years, I bought a new one!

Camry Hybrid I have mine still and it is 8 years old. Not quite as good as new, but still is a great car. People are always impressed while driving it. However, the same bug bit me. I ended up purchasing a new 23 4Runner Off Road Premium. Life is too short not to drive something you thoroughly...

GE profle dishwasher serviced, now louder

Restrictor removal This is what I recommend as well if the water level is low. However, make sure your float switch is working correctly as well. That would be an easier fix. The float switch will stop the machine from overflowing when you remove the fill restrictor.

    Took everyone's sound proofing advice

Sound Deadening Did this to my Duet dryer with some Amazon sound deadener and some sound absorbing material. It took it from sounding like a MOL product to sounding as solid and refined as a machine built in the 60s. Did the same treatment to the KUDS25. It was quite a bit quieter, though you...

    Smelly Whirlpool top loader

Citric Acid I highly recommend running 1 cup of Citric Acid on either a clean washer cycle or the longest wash cycle with hot water(preferably Sanitize). You will be amazed at how much it does. People claim that OxiClean, dishwasher tablets, baking soda, vinegar, and many other products work...

    Maytag He front loader question.

Clean Washer cycle She may be using a product on that cycle that is too high sudsing. My old Duet would do it slightly. If there is a lot of detergent build-up, it will likely do it as well. She should try to use Citric Acid while running that cycle.

    "bad"automotive engines 2000 and newer...

Bad Engines The GM EcoTec 2.4. Absolute trash. The post 2008 GM 5.3 V8s with AFM, and all the post 2014 5.3 and 6.2 V8s. Loads of issues. The GM High Feature V6 of all years. The newer ones are still yet to be proven. The GM EcoTec 1.4T. Honestly, any Hyundai/Kia direct injected 4 cylinder...

    Kitchenaid KDPM604KPS0 autopsy

appnut How did you find out that Auto and Sani rinse uses a higher spray pressure? I noticed on mine that Heavy seems to run both spray arms at the same time and doesn't wash nearly as long as Auto.

GE Profile Combo Washser/Dryer at KBIS 2023

Test Attached below will be some of the test results from the same guys. Seems halfway decent. This machine needs a built in heating element for wash water and a warm rinse option. Towels would likely dry quite a bit quicker.

    Kitchenaid KDPM604KPS0 autopsy

KitchenAid Experiences like this make me want to steer clear of the KA/Whirlpool brands as a whole. It is exactly why I purchased my Bosch over a KA last time. However, I still want to support KA and keep the family heritage going. I have been looking at the KDTE204 to potentially purchase once...
