I can also remember an avocado green carpet sweeper with a black handle that my mom got with Gold Bond stamps. And when we would go visit my grandparents in Roswell, we would make sure to gas up at the filling station where my grandma always went, because they gave out Green Stamps.

My mom had to replace her 1972 Frigidaire washer after Frigidaire "went through the change" (ha!) This was after she'd had a 1958 and the 1972 models. And then the inferior Frigidaire was just a total disappointment.

Our washer was a late '50s Frigidaire, just like the one on the home page of this site, except it was white. My aunt had the same one, but in yellow. (Haven't seen a yellow one, since!) I can remember the load always getting off balance as it was starting to spin, and then it would shut off...
