AI created spaces: Eichler home living room in the style of Frank Lloyd Wright

Joseph Eichler was inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright, but what if FLW actually designed and furnished an Eichler home living room?  Bing Image Creator came up with these 4 possibilities.  Repeated runs of the same prompt generate an entirely new set, possibly unique to each user.

    The stupidest customer reviews

Don't have the link handy . . .   . . . but a review of the Panasonic FlashXpress toaster oven said it was too dangerous for children to use because the cookware gets hot enough to cause second- or third-degree burns.   Uh, yeah.  No one said it's a microwave oven, and even if it was, you...

Induction for under a grand at HD . . . for now

Could be a Fourth of July special but there are no "Special Buy" flags on the 2 cheapest.  Samsung has knobs which many gas loyalists might favor and a self-cleaning standard oven.  Frigidaire has a touch control cooktop and convection.  Neither have Air Fry...

    The END of Kenmore

FLASHBACK: And now a moment of levity . . .   From a previous thread on the same topic   While spending a couple weeks with his mountain-man grandfather, a young corporate executive noticed that the dishes weren't as clean as he would have liked.  When he mentioned it, the grandfather...

    The END of Kenmore

Checkrate/Like if you're old enough to remember when the major appliances department at Sears was so vast it took two days to see everything (three days if the luncheonette counter lured you away to a hamburger, fries and a light bracing ice-cold Pepsi).

Instant Brands Makers of Pyrex Files For Bankruptcy

And CorningWare and Visions and Corelle . . .   Oddly, CorningWare Pyroceram and Visions are still going strong in Europe and Asia.  In the USA, they've really watered down the brand identity of CorningWare, practically burying the Pyroceram cookware on their website.  Searching for...

    Cascade Boil Out

Price has nearly doubled on Amazon . . .   . . . so I spike an Amazon Presto! pac with a teaspoon of STPP.  Ain't let me down yet.

It's Official - Tide Free & Gentle Powder is Gone for Good

Anyone else old enough to remember…   … when liquid Wisk was something your mother kept on the shelf next to the Oxydol to pre-treat grimy shirt collars and nothing more? [this post was last edited: 6/4/2023-18:00]

The rise of the 'no-wash' movement

Fruitarian Steve Jobs . . .   . . . was notorious for bathing as little as possible, claiming an all-fruit diet made his body so pure, he wouldn't stink.   Of course, he did and that's why he and Steve Wozniak were allowed to write code overnight at Atari instead of during the day with...

To pre-rinse dishes or not to pre-rinse...

Let the dishwasher do it   The high-temp wash option on our previous Whirlpool-built Kenmore and our current Whirlpool overrides the soil sensor during the pre-rinses (2 for Normal, 3 for Heavy).  It then fills with fresh water for the wash instead of reusing the pre-rinse water.   Possibly...
