My Maytag 511 washer and 410 dryer are now 41 years old. Being totally retired, I maybe do 1 load a week in them. Only part ever touched on the washer was a new motor pulley and belts but nothing for the dryer. Like everything I own, the warranty is over so I feel I got way more than my moneys worth

Growing up in the '60's I never saw many dryers that were not timed dry. We had a Bendix gas dryer that went to 60 minutes but it broiled the clothes. I have used Auto-Dry on this 40 year old Maytag since I bought it and everything dries fine.

Two of my aunts had those Economats in the '60's and that rubber tub never got clothes barely squeezed. I remembered that both of theirs had a second rinse on the dial. Neither aunt liked them
