Help, please, with a KitchenAid dishwasher

Fuzzy food??? is what you're suggesting? Well, yummy to that (Not!) There was actually a lot of this stuff and other gunk in the machine. I've used dishwashers for eons of different makes/models and have never come across this much! So, is there no way that that filter comes apart so I can...

Help, please, with a KitchenAid dishwasher

Hi everyone. I took pictures this time of (what I think is), the impeller. Can anyone tell me if this can come off, and if so then how? Also, the filter has that fuzz n' stuff coming out of it that I don't think is supposed to. Am I right on that, or can it come apart to clean it out, too? And...

    Kitchenaid dishwasher impeller removal question

Hello everyone. I've just installed this dishwasher that I haven't used since picking up awhile ago, and it's making some noises that concern me. The full model number is YKUDA230YW0 on the tank, and it says "Goldseal Reversing Motor" on a gold sticker on the motor. I cleaned out as much gunk as...

Antique wooden washer on Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada

"Late 1800's to early 1900's. Quite rare. Great shape. Everything works. Pretty sure it's a Maytag. I've seen these sell for up to $900 at auction. I'm selling for $350". I came across this ad in my local Craigslist, but wasn't sure where exactly to post 'cause there's no wires.

WAKE THE DEAD: TOL Maytag washer and dryer - $50 (Cedar Rapids)

I'll never know but I could wager you're probably right. Funny thing was, is that all it needed was a "kick-start" with some really hot water to loosen the hardened/cooked soap in the bottom. The new ones nowadays would probably die outright if the same thing happened. Gotta love these almost...

WAKE THE DEAD: TOL Maytag washer and dryer - $50 (Cedar Rapids)

Were it not for some rotten kids.... who turned the water off while their Imperial 21 was running so the Mom thought it was broken and left it in a house I ended up renting, it's unlikely I would have found this site and would have missed out on this touching and heart-warming story. So, Thank...

    Rare Vintage Stove-50's era - $50 (Courtenay)

Vintage portable Kitchenaid Dishwasher real model number

Pleasantly surprised to find out more parts are interchangable than I would have thought. Example: I happened across a KUDC220T5 "KitcheAid" that was being tossed, and have since taken out the cooling fan, a door-switch thingy and the upper rack which all fit my other one pretty-well...

    Seeking advice about KitchenAid dishwashers.

To rp2813 Yes, I've read here and other places about that vinegar idea. But once it's all rigged up for it's test-drive, what is it I should look/listen for?

    Anti-vibration Feet

For a front load washer? If you're trying to cut down the vibration for one of those, try puting a piece of plywood underneath. Also, anti-fatigue matts that are used for horse stalls. They might sell something similar in building supply stores.

Alrighty then it'll be the Superba that's going in. I do so hope it'll perform well. I think, though, I'll see if I can "test drive" it first, while it's still on the deck. I'll update how everything goes. Many Thanks to all who have helped me thus far. I love this site! Even just to come...

    Seeking advice about KitchenAid dishwashers.

Yes, that machine of mine.......... (picture #3),has brought forth many an expletive. Amongst the Huge list of things I had to do to even get it to it's current crappy state was fix that valve you mentioned. Seeking advice about KitchenAid dishwashers.

To Electronicontrl To continue on..... First off I'd like to say-Now that's the way to pack a dishwasher! The poopy one I'm using now would get nothing clean if I packed it like that, but the Imperial sure would! Sigh..... The Superba does have the 4 option adjustable upper rack, and a...

    Seeking advice about KitchenAid dishwashers.

To Electronicontrl Thank you for getting back to me. Just wanted to make sure you didn't think I was the dumb-bunny that I sounded like from that first response I gave you. It's my bedtime now, but will continue tomorrow. Christine.

Ah-Ha! Another good idea about how to test something! Off to try that right now.... Ok, I'm back. The Energy Saver now has 2 strikes against it. I switched wash-arms, and the Superba chattered a little bit in the Energy Saver, and the Energy Saver still chattered in the Superba. So I looked...

    Seeking advice about KitchenAid dishwashers.

To Gilles8000 Yes, mine all have rinse-aid dispensers. And with me being on well-water, it might be that I'll have to start using it although it isn't really hard water. With the info I've gotten so far, it's now down to the Superba or the Imperial. What would your opinions be on those two?

    Seeking advice about KitchenAid dishwashers.

To rp2813 I think I like the idea of 2 rinses, as that seems a better idea than just the one. I'm also on well-water that can gurgle up some sediment that starts to clog up my kitchen faucet every couple of months or so but I wouldn't consider it really hard water. I'm surprised to hear that...
