Pete, that's because you're not supposed to know when cylinders deactivate. Not with sophisticated controls. So lights would be redundant. Then you'd be distracted listening for it and a jerk.

i wish they coukd bring back classic washers and dryers with electro mechanical timer

Nostalgia is nice, but not always practical for daily living. Wether it's cost, energy, or time. Sean would prefer to drive a '78 Ford LTD, but would he drive it daily getting 10/14 m.p.g.?

Cool Matt. Did those weak caps. affect the sound or rotational/laser performance?

    Samsung is Junk!

I'm on my 4th CD player. A single disc non remote Onkyo in 1990 that was still working in 97 when I thought I upgraded to a Technics 50 disc that one day didn't power on and the blue line was flashing. Bricked! Then found a 5 disc Sony from 93 in 2015 for $5 that I got a good few years out of...

    Samsung is Junk!

Difficult to read or understand? What purpose would a fake vacuum tube serve? Some new ones are small, as on some phono preamps, but they are not fake. Some high resolution CD players or transport only no DAC types cost over $1,000.

William8, most every newer engine has at least one turbo. Except thirsty V-8's. Dave, some transmission sport modes switch the cluster to display rpm's and or boost. Try the buttons and toggle through the settings too.

    Modern Living: Part Eighteen

I've been to old Milford. That's southeast. It took at least a half hour to drive there from Blue Ash.

    Samsung is Junk!

No Matt that is not what I was saying at all. Did you only read the last sentence or only see what you want to? It should have been clear that I meant Samsung chose the materials, and parts and designed the specs and the selected Chinese manufacturer followed them.

    Samsung is Junk!

Samsung electronics are int their appliances. LG began as Gold Star. Hyundai spun off Mitsubishi. Japan booted Korean automotive and electronics.. Lots of Chinese sourcing today. The Chinese can make anything durable, accurate and precise if the company is willing to pay enough. They follow...

Australian laws are introducing the “two buttons start”

Two kids would be needed have to start the machine if one is inside. They don't start with the door opened. This feature will not outsmart them. Don't they already have lock out controls feature?

Oils and fluids are one reason at least to maybe "lease" electric. Not only no gas to buy, but no oil changes, transmission fluid, or all drive axles. No fluid leaks to worry about after warranty either. Scrap it when the batteries die if you buy one, same as any car, and you're no worse for...

Not very old for Cincinatti. Unless it's out near Blue Ash.

Over the range, microwave ovens, etc.

My mom must have cleaned one of their countertop microwave interiors with a used dish cloth because the paint bubbles and it rusted. Then they got a Panasonic invertor type and it lasted a long time.

    new dishwasher

Pain is something we both deal with. Worse in winter of course. I don't do brakes, or oil changes anymore. I sold my car ramps.

    Bewitched washer and dryer

My aunt had avocado Whirlpool separate refrigerator and freezer. I don't know if they were gas or electric.

“if I remove this silver pan, Will I get the things that have fallen between my drum and washing machine”

Bits of gears maybe. The splutch is inside. A dime fit's in between the agitator/pulsator and tub. It will interfere with the reversing pickup for the motor and won't agitate correctly, if at all. The mode shifter actuates the splutch for spin.
