FD mini fridge recall (fire risk)

I think it would help to dial things back a bit and be mindful of how some comments might be interpreted by others.

Advice: Asko 12kg washer and Asko 11kg Dryer

There are lots of companies in the UK selling standard Speed Queen gas and electric dryers (sometimes branded Huebsch) but I'd never seen a condenser version. I've just googled it and I see it now. I certainly wouldn't get that one.

Advice: Asko 12kg washer and Asko 11kg Dryer

I remember when you first posted a few months ago and mentioned that you’d lowered the granite worktop in your laundry room to accommodate the new Miele set. My thought back then, and still now, is that I would raise that countertop back up and switch to a different, much more suitable set. I...

Advice: Asko 12kg washer and Asko 11kg Dryer

I think you'd be better off buying a Speed Queen set in the UK. Much easier to just order the Speed Queens from a UK company and have the set delivered to your home. You can choose a gas or electric dryer and have your choice of a matching front load or top load washer.

Based on Chet's repeated assertions that valve 358277 is one of the best things man has ever created, I purchased said valve last month and I'm going to install it in my Speed Queen AWN542. Thank you, Chet. I am very much looking forward this potentially life-changing event.

Australian laws are introducing the “two buttons start”

It would make sense if you currently don't need to press anything on some washers after closing the door -- just select and "Start" a cycle, then climb inside, close the door behind you and the machine will lock and start without pressing anything after closing the door. And while the law makers...

Australian laws are introducing the “two buttons start”

I’m not clear on what this new rule is actually trying to achieve. Currently, you close the door and then press a button to start the machine. After July, you’ll need to close the door and press two buttons to start it. Is this change meant to prevent accidental activations, or to prevent...

Ring in the New Year with a Filter Flo

Sorry, I’ve posted this in the wrong place. @DADoES could you move it please? Or tell me how to do it? And I don’t know if the link is working 🙈

    Money for bad dishwasher board.

I bought this Whirlpool Point Voyager for $20 just to play with it. I managed to record this video of it blowing its brains out and tripping the AFCI due to an arc fault (it did not trip due to overcurrent or ground fault). I threw it out but perhaps I could have kept it and got $100! 😁

LK Belt Drive problem. What’s happening?

Quick question: Does anyone know where this goes? I’ve just found it under the machine.

LK Belt Drive problem. What’s happening?

Once I get the machines fixed up and the casita sorted out, you’ll be welcome to come over for a wash-in!

LK Belt Drive problem. What’s happening?

Oh Scott I'm sorry to hear that. I first messaged him on Nov 6th and heard nothing. So I messaged again 5 days later and he replied saying he'd been out of town. I collected the machines on Nov 15th. I had no idea he'd previously agreed to hold them for you.

LK Belt Drive problem. What’s happening?

Thanks, John. I've ordered a new belt. I'll replace the belt, clean up the machine and treat the rust and then take it from there. I don't plan on removing the outer tub or disturbing any of the seals. Would it be a good idea to apply a rubberized coating over the tub seal and the...

    WAYMO Technology

We humans don't have a particularly good record when it comes to operating motor vehicles ourselves. Each day, in the USA alone: 120 people are killed in crashes (EVERY single day) 7,000 are injured Tens of thousands of non-injury crashes Tailbacks, enormous expense, crazy insurance premiums...

    WAYMO Technology

I love riding in Waymos and I trust them more than a human driver! Whenever I'm in San Francisco I always use Waymos to get around the city if I'm not walking or taking BART. I've been very impressed at how Waymo has handled some unusual and non-standard situations, including two women...

LK Belt Drive problem. What’s happening?

The noise is present about 85% of the time during agitation, neutral drain and spin. Sometimes the noise just goes away randomly and then returns. It's exactly the same now as it was before I tightened the belt. I haven't yet managed to determine where it's coming from. I could certainly...

LK Belt Drive problem. What’s happening?

Unless the flat spot in the belt smooths itself out, I will replace it. If. That should stop the odd rhythmic noise from what is otherwise a very quiet and refined machine. There is another high-pitched noise that is constant and I don’t know where that’s coming from or how to resolve it. Any...
