I think the color is toast as it’s usually hard to discern almond from white in pictures.

Almond would be the correct color description. The dryer was built the 8th week of 1979 and the washer in 1985 or 1986.

The original purchase date of March 1981 is written to the right of the model number on the manual.

The transmission number for your washer is wh38x38. It has been discontinued for many years and your best chance of finding one would be at an old mom and pop appliance repair shop that might have a new one that’s been sitting for the last 30 years.

The model year is 1986. It’s possible that it was built up to 5 years after this as Sears was good at keeping some models around like this. In 1992 the panels were changed a little so this one would be between 1986-1991. The second letter or number after the 110 on the serial is the year it was...
