    Hoover Logic 1300 A3636

Whilst I was posting about the Hotpoint I thought I may as well make a thread for this machine as well. We actually picked this machine up in January from Merthyr Tydfil of all places! Have been using it for about a month or so as a daily driver and I absolutely love it! There are, however, a...

    UPDATE: Hotpoint Microtronic 9550

So that's where we are now... Until we can get power to the machine there isn't much point in sorting any of the other issues, so for the time being at least it may just have to sit in our outhouse. For £4.99 you can't really go wrong though can you! Matt

    UPDATE: Hotpoint Microtronic 9550

Another... The powder drawer, date code on this machine is 89, which I believe dates it to May 1985, so a relatively early version of this model. On the positive side the bearings turn smoothly with no play, and the motor and other parts all look clean and well maintained... Next door to the...

    UPDATE: Hotpoint Microtronic 9550

A couple more shots Meant to add to the above post that we have tried the obvious of changing the fuse in the plug, but that didn't help, and is about as far as my electrical skills go!

    UPDATE: Hotpoint Microtronic 9550

but even more problematic... is the fact that it doesn't actually work! It won't turn on, no display, no noises, absolutely nothing. I am hoping that this is something simple like a faulty connection or a loose wire, really don't have the equipment or knowledge to know where to start with this...

    UPDATE: Hotpoint Microtronic 9550

but there are also more pressing matters... the suspension is twisted, as this photo under the lid shows...

    UPDATE: Hotpoint Microtronic 9550

A few 'slight' problems however... First of all, the words "in good working order" in the advert were very much over exaggerated, we knew the door glass was missing, but the door seal is also torn, the door catch is broken and the door release button doesn't seem to work...

    UPDATE: Hotpoint Microtronic 9550

As many of you will know we recently obtained this machine off ebay, picked it up the other weekend. First surprise was that it's actually almond, in the ebay photo it looks very much white! Otherwise the machine is very much as expected, a bit battered and bruised, but the important parts...

ALERT! Working Hotpoint Microtronic 9550 in Torquay on eBay

Thanks guys Pictures to come ASAP! Thanks for the info Paul, really appreciate it! Good to know that the side/lid strips are still available, I didn't think we'd stand a chance of getting them! As for the door glass, for the time being it might have to share the bowl on the 9530 and swap them...

ALERT! Working Hotpoint Microtronic 9550 in Torquay on eBay

hopfully one of us has got it? They have indeed, myself and Marc got it (at a bargain price too!). I'm sure it will make a prized part of our (albeit small) collection consisting of a Hotpoint 9530, Hoover Logic 1300 A3636 (current daily driver) and soon this. Will be interesting to see what...

    Indesit Prestige Line OMEGA 1000

Lovely! I grew up with the more basic model, with programme and temp dial, 3 buttons and an 800rpm spin. That one was bought in the summer of '88, so this will be late 80s. Hope you enjoy it! Matt

    Home Heating Systems.

Gas here 1 bed small ground floor flat, we have a hot water condensing combi (on demand) boiler in our kitchen, which heats all 3 radiators in the flat, unfortunately it's been out of action since last Friday and due to lack of funds and work commitments won't be fixed until next Wednesday at...

    UK detergent prices

Hmmmm... "My Hotpoint WM31 was designed with Persil Automatic, that's the non-bio stuff these days." Biological Persil was inctroduced years before the WM series Hotpoints were on sale in the mid-late 90s, infact the non-bio version wasn't reintroduced until the late 80s as far as I'm aware...

    Need help with lg 11kg.

LG Well considering my Nana who lives alone and washes about one small load a week has just had to replace her 4 year old LG as it was beyond repair (and was never right from day 1) I would say steer clear of them if you decide to take a refund and buy something different. Unfortunately she...

    Washing Bathmats

Bath mats I just throw our (all white, non-rubber backed) bath mats in with our weekly towels/whites boilwash. A full machine will rarely go off balance, but if ours does it just spins regardless so it isn't an issue anyway. I hang my bath mat over the side of the bath to dry out between uses...

UK article about washing at low temps

thank you for your generous contribution to the global warmi Well I dry my clothes on the line whenever possible... A clothes dryer uses 5 times the energy that washing at 60c uses, so if I boil my whites then hang them on the line, I still use considerably less energy than you would washing...

UK article about washing at low temps

High Temperature washing Lets not forget that washing at high temperatures is not just to make laundry more sanitary, it also makes it a hell of a lot cleaner! As has been demonstrated in recent threads a hot wash, and preferably a boil wash will leave whites far cleaner and whiter than lower...
