    The New SQ TL Washers

While I was disappointed about hearing the news, I trust that they know what they are doing. I had a feeling all along that this new machine was going to be like a Hydrowave, and honestly those aren't bad, I don't think. We will just have to wait and see, but I trust that they are on to...

    Cold Water Wash

So, its sad this machine exists, and I'm wondering how many people have bought one. I came across this Whirlpool, that has cold water wash technology. It seriously ONLY does cold water washes on all cycles, except Heavy Duty which is Hot. There is no warm setting at all. I just can't fathom such...

    GE GTW330ASKWW

I have the 460 set and matching dryer and they are decent machines. I would go with this model because I like the dual action agitator better than the one piece one in the other model. You can get a straight hot wash in this machine too based on the cycle you choose, the whites cycle gives a...

    Whirlpool/Kenmore lint screens

I got to thinking, why does Whirlpool use the door over their lint screens, yet on Kenmore versions its the built in handle to the screen? Personal preference I guess, but I always found it more annoying to open the door to remove the lint screen rather than just pulling it out.

Speed Queen top load washer need repair advice

I agree with what others have said, try a belt, what do you have to loose?? I don't think there is anything else wrong with you machine. I've also seen a worn belt cause some noises when agitating as well.

    Timed Dry Cycle

I have a 1 year old GE dryer and I find the auto cycles to run WAY longer than necessary and overdry the clothes. I set it to the less dry setting on high heat. It will run for way over an hour. Sometimes I go and check on the clothes and they are bone dry and the control is still at the less...

    Dryer Fires

So I've been doing a little research lately about this topic and I've noticed two trends. I understand that a dryer fire can happen by several different reasons, either spontaneous combustion, lint or possibly by putting some material in the machine that shouldn't be dried. If you do either a...

    Broke Down

is that a Kenmore 400 series? Does it still do a deep rinse or had they already changed to the partial fill rinse by that time?

    Broke Down

Honestly to me it sounds as though the motor maybe going on on thermal overload. I saw a vid once on this a dryer randomly stopping thruoughout the cycle and that was exactly what it was.

    Owner of new GE set

My set is performing beautifully. I'm still getting used to some of the features of it. The darks cycle defaults to a cold water wash, the heavy setting provides a 15 minute wash and it automatically provides a deep rinse on this cycle with a high speed spin. On the whites and colors cycle...

    Owner of new GE set

The default temp is cold for the darks cycle. I did a small load of bath rugs tonight on the towels cycle. Its basically just a normal cycle again, not sure what the difference is. I also just used the regular spray rinse. That was a little disappointing. I bet the water only ran for 30 seconds...

    Owner of new GE set

So far I've only tried two cycles, the colors and whites. The colors cycle is considered the "normal" cycle on this machine. The whites cycle provides straight water heater hot water, as well as a longer wash time. The only difference between the colors and darks cycle is that on the darks it...

    Owner of new GE set

Plus it all depends on where the sensors are on the machine, some simply measure the exhaust air, others actually "feel" the clothes in the drum. Not sure which this model uses. But yes, if I were to use the preferred setting or more dry it would definitely be frying the clothes. I was very...

    Owner of new GE set

I can't tell for certain yet as the water heater setting isn't super hot, but it appears to be straight hot water. The dryer did a good job. Like one of the reviews stated, set the automatic cycle to less dry and it will completely dry your clothes, and it did. I was just amazed at how clean...

    Owner of new GE set

Well I gave in after the initial thread was created and was impressed with these new machines so I purchased one last week. The set was delivered today and I have already ran one load thru it. I am quite impressed with the cleaning ability of this machine. The lid will only lock during the...

    Dryer overheated?

These are the drying tumblers, not their regular dryers. The tumblers are much hotter than a standard dryer. I talked with a lady that used to work there and she said the same thing, it was a problem with the sheets not the dryer, although she did say she used to only use that dryer for heavier...

    Dryer overheated?

While I was at the laundromat today, I experienced an event with a dryer that has a tendency to run very hot. A lady today filled it and 2 other dryers with sheets, and put 21 minutes on each one. These are 30# Speed Queen drying tumblers from around 1996 or so. Probably about 10 minutes or so...

    Possed microwave?

I'm very sorry to hear that you got a defective unit from Sharp. Hopefully the replacement unit will work without a glitch, and I'm glad you got good warranty service from them. Had the unit been running awhile beforehand? It kind of sounds to me like something oerheated which shut the unit...

    Good news for laundromats!

I came across this link yesterday and was surprised what I found. I guess Speed Queen finally realized and redeveloped their commercial topload line. No more gray water rinses!!! The regular cycle does a wash with a spin rinse, like the normal eco cycle on the residential line. However if you...

    Whirlpool Age

How old do you suppose this Whirlpool is? I'm guessing late 70's. I'm seriously thinking of picking it up. I've wanted one of these for quite some time now. http://kokomo.craigslist.org/app/5222002980.html
