You're Probably Doing Laundry All Together Wrong

Jerome, PLEASE change the subject instead of your constant ranting and raving about the right way to laundry and dishes. We all know the right way that works for us, tell them idiots, not us over and over.

The Only Laundry Cycle You Should Use

Jerome, PLEASE let it go. All of us here know the proper way and it does no good to keep ranting and raving about it to us on AW. We all know your views but it does no good to keep it up.

Does anyone else hate the "normal" cycle on new washers?

These new machines are way too complicated. I will keep the simplicity of my 40 year old Maytags. Regular, Delicate and P Press. I select the load level and temp. I do not want a machine deciding what it thinks is best for me.

Martha Washington 3 burner 20” range

A previous summer home I had one of those 3 burner Kenmore electric stoves. Took it out and replaced with a gas stove because of the constant power outages.

The Only Laundry Cycle You Should Use

I think what your washer is. as I HATE new ones with wi-fi and dozens of cycles. My Maytag 511 from 1984 works for me just fine. I select the temp, load size and almost always use regular cycle. What could be more simpler and wash is done.

The Only Laundry Cycle You Should Use

Maybe you need to contact him and school him on the proper way to do laundry. I wont listen to that crap. The article was in the last AARP magazine and said to myself, I will do it my way and I dont care how you do it.

A New All-Wheel-Drive vs. what I currently have: Old School Four-Wheel-Drive

Yes, Buicks are nice, my niece has an Encore and is very happy with it. I prefer my own control of all 4 wheels. My Silverado has 2, auto, 4 hi and 4 low switch. And to be honest I switch just from auto to 2. In auto, it will easily plow thru a 3 foot snowbank without spinning a tire.

The Only Laundry Cycle You Should Use

My Maytag 511 from 1984 Has only a regular, PP and delicate cycles with hot warm cold and small to extra large loads. Simple is what I want not confusing multi-cycles and todays cheap crap that breaks down, no thanks, I will keep what works for me. And 40 years later it still works perfectly...

    Johnson’s Paste Wax discontinued

I hated it when Johnson's Wax discontinued SPRAY Jubilee. I dont want or like the liquid formula that you can still buy.

    Sears built "Flair type" range

I had a 30" version of this Kenmore Classic range in coppertone. Pull out cooktop was a pain to use and oven was always 50 degrees hotter than what the dial said, Gave it away and went with my Whirlpool gas stove. I did like the extra storage in the bottom cabinet.

Is Whirlpool working on it's own version of the heat pump combo ?

My next door fair weather neighbors have a Whirlpool heat pump dryer with a Whirlpool stack heater washer that fills only cold and both are 110. I know she said to dry a load of heavy towels was over 2 hours and they bought at Lowes 3 years ago. Plus emptying a bin of water every load I am sure...

    "Sound based popcorn function"

Many, many years ago, before there was microwave popcorn, I got this not so bright idea to try popping it in my old 1977 Whirlpool microwave oven in a pyrex dish sprayed with Pam. After 1 minute, 1 kernal popped. Turned it on for 1 more minute and the pyrex dish shattered making a mess.

    Latest Whirlpool Dishwashers

We know your views Jerome. I will continue to pre-rinse and my 30 year old Whirlpool's racks are still like new. And no, I will continue to use cheapest store brand detergent. You do what you want and I will do what has worked for me for a lot longer than you have been alive.

Tips for a novice looking to buy a wringer washer.

My '47 Kenmore has to have the timer turned on to hold position or minutes to turn the motor on, then the agitator and wringer work. You can always gravity drain it, if there is a pump problem.

    Diesel "parking heaters" #2

A business nearby has one in a shop and it works very well. They have a larger tank and use kerosene for the fuel as diesel is just dyed kerosene they sell for a higher price per gallon.

    Broadcast AM radio listening.

Back in the 60's and 70's there were 3 AM stations and no FM here. One was easy listening, one country, and one rock that had to sign off at sunset. At night I could get New York and Boston stations with rock. I hated the sound off a typical car radio on AM. My truck has a Bose sound system that...

Maytag DE313: how does auto dry work?

My 1984 LDE410 has auto-dry and it has worked perfect for nearly 40 years. Regardless of the load, I set it on less dry every time and everything comes out fine. I do notice a lighter fabric load dries much quicker than a heavier load.
