The idler looks crooked. It probably spun off the bushing. Replace the idler and belt.

Have you considered powder coating? The paint looks great but will it hold up with some use? Also, I know it may not be authentic but is it possible to nickel plate the cooling unit?

how to seal rear fridge opening

I’ve always used the permagum stuff. Everybody refers to it as thumb gum. It’s a Hvac product and it’s purpose is sealing holes like that.

Big Box retailers selling on eBay?

There are people who make their living drop shipping. I do that a little bit with appliance parts. For instance: I have amazon prime, I have a washer belt listed on eBay for $12. You buy on eBay because it’s the best price. You don’t have prime so amazon is $9.99 plus 5 shipping. I have...

    Maytag Neptune pedestal for sale

Got this in on a haul away, it’s probably the second one I’ve ever seen. They were stupid expensive when new. Any offer with quick pick up will be accepted from AW members. I just can’t scrap this thing. Seriously like bring me beer or a 20 dollar bill and it’s yours. I’ll consider...

Ideas why Miele W1 might be tripping waterproof error?

@sgt10 I really like LG front loaders, more so the ones with turbo wash. My experience with LG is that they typically go 7 years before their first repair, which is almost always a water pump. I always sell my customers the water pump, hall sensor, and motor wire harness, along with a single...

Ideas why Miele W1 might be tripping waterproof error?

This thread outlines exactly why you shouldn’t buy low volume high end appliances. As a technician I can tell you this about your fancy designer washer 1. My service rate just doubled 2. You are waiting a month for the part 3. If you are out of warranty the first repair will be 75% of your...

OK you repair gawds out there, please help me!!!!

As far as the overheating you need to take a measurement. Empty and on high heat you should expect to be around 150 at the exhaust +- 10 degrees. If you have a voltage tester you should check your element, it may be grounded to the body. Run the dryer on air fluff, if it heats definitely...

    Whirlpool Direct Drive Mystery Part

It’s a shipping pin. There are a couple on the Machine, they are captive in the little plastic cups. When the machine was new they secured the tub to the base, the installer would pull a yellow strap and it would pull all the pins from those......pins. They fall in the plastic holder to live...

Solid tub speed queen stumbled in my store today

I fixed it Bob had the tub boot at his house, along with the service manual. After working on this I can really appreciate the simplicity of modern washers. This model has no solenoids , the wash/ spin is engaged by a worm gear that flips a lever . It’s fun to watch that’s for sure.

Solid tub speed queen stumbled in my store today

It seems to function but the center tub boot dryed and cracked. It was pretty weird, the first run is was a few drops, the second load was a monsoon My first time working on this style, it’s pretty cool.

I would sell that set for at least that much and I would get it. The condition looks nice or near mint.

I HATE Scrappers and "Haul Away" from big box stores. I think all of us do.

The margins are better than you write, but your in the right ballpark. Most of us get haul aways delivered to us for $40 each. About 75% of them are fixable. For example a Maytag dc: worst case is the tub seal, and it was only recently leaking. I’m pretty sure I pay less than $40 for the...

I HATE Scrappers and "Haul Away" from big box stores. I think all of us do.

I may have went to the auction you are talking about, it was near Lancaster pa. I believe a few machines sold for $50 , the rest sold for $10 a piece. I would guess 90% didn’t sell and got scrapped. I bought all that I could haul which sadly was only 3. Being in the appliance business I...

    Vintage Lady Kenmore combo unit

Parts will be my limiting factor. From a technical standpoint this washer is complicated by washing machine standards, but after working on a few multi million dollar food packaging equipment, and rebuilding a few car engines I think I can figure it out.

    Vintage Lady Kenmore combo unit

It’s still in my service room, but I need to find that hose and some belts. Anyone on here with a parts diagram or know part numbers? Better yet, anyone with parts? Aside from some basic surface rust this is in good condition.
