Speed Queen Top Loader - Idler Arm hitting against frame

Hi All,

My SQ has developed a rattling noise which under investigation appears to be the idler lever hitting against the machine frame.

I have taken a video showing the idler arm whilst the machine is agitating

What could be the reason for this?

The idler looks crooked. It probably spun off the bushing. Replace the idler and belt.

Belt Ware

As the belt wears thinner, the play in that pulley becomes greater.
Easiest repair might be to change the belt.
Or facet a bumper out of something like a car door protector.

Replaced the idler arm, idler pulley and belt and now all is fine again.
