Which decade was Maytag’s very finest?

Well it would be the '70's center-dialed "tiled" control panel for me...   My mom had a very basic A-106 which was a 1-speed only available in white, with the three water levels and temperatures...   It was still running fairly well when I went out and bought a full-featured newer one in...

    Fast "High Speed" Burners

Which ranges had them...   I'd read that the frequent use of electric ones mainly because of the high wattage this type of burner would have to carry, would most-likely burn out first...   Gas ones, on the other hand, would be able to handle their constant use, and my two gas ranges I have...

    9-Millionth Maytag Washer - 16mm Film

I'm surprised at a millionth in the '50's myself, which meant Maytag surely had little to no competition...   The sign of Maytag being a one and original, until the other brands like Whirlpool, GE and the Whirlpool-made Sears came along, not to mention Westinghouses' front-loaders...   I...

    Penncrest!

Nice how, althoughGE-built boasts a fast, high-temperature speed-burner and not a selectable burner, nor from what I see, even a temperature-sensitive such as a sensi-temp type of unit... Nice find, and a shame the JC Penny stable of appliances never caught on as much as Sears and Wards did...

    Caloric Range RSP-366-U3

I always did like a good, full-featured gas range like that... Congratulations on a good save... -- Dave

    1975 Kenmore Set

Yes, looking at the bottom, I can see that according to what parts there'd be for such, one isn't there...   At least if I could compare it to other Kenmores/Lady Kenmores that do...   Surprised there's no fabric softener dispenser and I thought with this being a large capacity, there'd be...

    The Cool Wash Temperature

reply #13, GE LAUNDRY: I think that would be the problem you'd have if you're using Tap Cold--making the water the same as what comes directly out of your faucet but isn't that what Cold wash/rinse is anyway?       -- Dave

    1975 Kenmore Set

That's a nice mint looking set... Congrats on the find... Do you know if the washer has an unbalance load shut off switch? -- Dave

    The Cool Wash Temperature

Yes, there is also Tap Cold which my washer has too, but never used...   Thought I had selected that Cool temp. but my washer is washing on Cold for my colors...       -- Dave

    The Cool Wash Temperature

Why is it COOL for new washers to have?   What does it do that an ordinary Cold wash doesn't do?   When do you use it and for what kinds, colors and/or types of clothes?           — Dave

how long to wear jeans before washing them

I'm in the habit of wearing something one day for at least nine-to-ten-hours or more...   I'm down to three pairs of jeans that are a medium-light shade of blue & the only three with no holes, rips or tears...   So there's a reluctance right now after I seemingly just wore to wash right away...

    EPA Reversals

Yes, simply put what Chetlatham just explained--and to me a good end of story...   Appliances should not be just thrown out, that will create much more waste & toxic our environment much more then hanging onto and investing much more life in, and maybe somehow reinventing its own energy...

    Blackberry Dr Pepper

Well let me show you the Orange-Cream Coke, though not shown is what was left of an orange soda added, then adding to that glass, regular Coke… — Dave

    EPA Reversals

With the political policies involved and from that first post, are we just overdue for a Brown Forum discussion on this? There, although plenty of other pow-wows of activities of "other stuff" of general nature and for those of us Upgraded, maybe we need to have a thread such as this there...

    Blackberry Dr Pepper

I plead guilty for stocking up on these flavors and getting in on when we are offered discounts and/or free cases of cans of which I enormously prefer over plastic in which “case” is THREE free cases for buying five, on sale! — Dave

    Changing user name

Yes, why do you see "K"? re: GIZMO--   Well, yes, Krayo is in Crayola Crayons is how I'd acquired my nick-name at that forum...   It was my excess use of colors that I'd garnered it and with using a letter 'K', as opposed to 'C'...       -- Dave https://www.amcorner.com

Tending to my Dishwasher & Fielding Posts in certain "o/ --but, GIZMO:   Thank you for asking...   I belonged at a website for A&M Records called AMCorner.com   I used to text excessively in colors, though to much to the point of some of my posts not being easy to read...   Ditto for...

I'm happy, proud really to be AMKrayoGuy, here at AW.org but at Facebook nobody understands the significance of it or why I name my food and drink AMKrayo____... So I'll continue here to forever be, no name change for me ever! -- Dave

    GE profile filter-flo

Yes, Jerome: General Electric and Westinghouse had long been competitors, and had started out with actually both building good appliances, so it's now neck to neck on their way to each making the worst...       -- Dave

    Finish or Cascade

Finish or Cascade is pretty much like Tide vs. Gain, GE vs. Westinghouse, Ford vs. General Motors, or--... --This could go on... -- Dave
