    Cling Free fabric softener spray

Today we found these. Guessing that they are from the mid 1980s.

    Cling Free fabric softener spray

Yogi: There used to be a product called AllWays Soft which could be added to the wash, rinse, or onto a cloth and then tossed in the dryer. My mom used it for a while in the late 1970s. Am thinking it was a Texize product but I could be mistaken on that. The same estate sale that had the...

    A Diamond Jubilee Present!

Sorry I don't post much but attempt to read when I can. Is this the same wash house you've been working to fix up for the past year? Perhaps I'm thinking of someone else, but if not, it's looking quite superb and I really enjoy the machines and space you've created. Nicely well done and I hope...

What is the trick to keep your clothes white?

Sorting I never mix whites and colors in the same load. This prevents the the whites from picking up dye from the colors. Have done this all my life and have never had a problem with dingy whites.

Collection The convertible BD Lady K that Jon had now lives with me (if you remember it). Technically I think that means I have a collection, or at least a junior collection. Lol Still trying to figure out where/how I can squeeze in extra machines. There have been some good machines on CL...

    Heavy soil

To mikeklondon RE: Top Loader ratings I've thought about this a little and have a theory. In the UK/Europe most detergents are intended for front loaders, even though there are brands specifically intended for top loaders and twin tubs (i.e. UK Persil Handwash). And from what I've learned...

To Badgerdx Who doesn't love the woo-woo of a Whirlpool/Kenmore BD? Lol It's possible that the one listed has a manual filter, in which case is a prettier-than-smarter waterfall affair. My convertible Lady K has this type of filter and it catches some lint but falls short of being a washday...

    Heavy soil

Portland water And yes, Portland has very soft water. Our usual source (where I live it's from Bull Run) is 1/2-1 grains hardness. Even when the city switches over to the Columbia Southshore well field the hardness only increases to about 3-4 grains hardness, and that's usually only for a...

    Speed Queen - Part II

Loved it despite myself ;) Admittedly I'm nervous about those SQs having owned a horrible (and freakishly similar looking) Amana in the late 90s. That said, WHAT A LOVELY VIDEO! Really enjoyed it. You have great talent!

Pressure Cookers - Does anyone here use them?

My mom gave me a Kuhn-Rikon pressure cooker as a gift a few years ago. If my memory is correct I've only used it to make pot roast and corned beef (which is about once or twice per year at that -- we rarely eat red meat), but for some reason I'm thinking I cooked beans in it once. Repressed...
