    Which Magazine January 1979

Hi all I thought I would share with you all this little gem I came across. It gives a quick guide to the washers of 1979, with spin speeds etc.. The one I'm very interested in is the 800 spin Hirundo/Indesit. Never knew they did a faster spin. Does anyone know if it span drained? Rob

    Hoover Selectamatic Video

Hi Gary Again another big thank you for posting. So many programmes too, this really was ahead of its time. I wonder how it compared with other machines cost wise. It's funny how Hoover's become more stable the faster they spin. Rob

    A rare Hotpoint on eBay

Welcome to the site Hi Ultimafan Welcome to the site. I remember someone I knew having this machine in 1989. Great to see it again, thanks for posting. I didn't remember the button layout. The machine is in Huddersfield and the auction runs out soon so hopefully someone in the area will get...

    Oooh. Look what i found.

Hi Darren I am much happier with this than the Aqualtis. No faffing about on spin! The water levels are quite good really and it goes extra deep on rinse hold. At £289 it was a bargin too as I think they are stopping making them so much over here now. Rob

    Oooh. Look what i found.

Here is the control panel. Nice and easy to use. The extra rinse option on cottons does the same old fashioned rinsing of the old days. 4 deep rinses with a 500rpm spin for about a minute after each. The third rinse adds a faster 900 end. The time manager is brilliant and in some cases has 6...

Here is the dial with the programmes, haven't tried them all yet. Wash levels vary but are all quite good, although, not as deep as some makes.

New Electolux Insight Hi Darren / all As promised here are some pics of my new Electrolux Insight. It's a great machine and the time manager really is variable. I haven't done a video because it is basically the same as my Jetsystem. Here are some pics anyway.

    best english washing machine drum?

Hi Phil I think for me it has to be the old style Hotpoint drum. Nice deep paddles the thick rim and good amount of holes. I love the look of the old Hoover drum but it does feel cramped. Rob

    My new zanussi!

Congrats and Electrolux EWN16581 Hi Darren Congratulations on your new purchase, I bet you are made up. I love these machines. Last Thursday I took delivery of an Electrolux Inspire, Time Manager 1600rpm. They are not being made anymore and this was sold at £289 which was a brilliant price...

Old Indesit washer and current AEG

Thanks for the pics. I think it is easy to brush Indesit off but like you said you had very little problems with your machine. A woman at work has had an Indesit for years and it is still going strong. I have never seen one of these machines operate but I have seen the Ariston version. One...

    Goodbye Servis Quartz :-(

Hi Darren So sorry you are having problems. I remember seeing that machine and noting how stable it was. I know it's very tempting to get rid of things when they don't work but I think if your parents will let you keep it I would hold on to it for the time being. She must be pushing 25 now...

    Guess whats coming!

Hi there I had the WD640, which was an Aquarius washer dryer, roughly 3 years old now. It ruined a few jumpers in the dryer. It would literally spin at 1400 and leave the clothes all marked. That aside I did quite like it and if you selected gentle dry the spins were cut. I do however, much...
