About as BOL as it gets.

This was my first washer and dryer set when I moved out of my parent's house in 2001. I was still using both until I replaced them with a Frigidaire front load and Roper dryer in 2006. They were both still working when I got rid of them. If memory serves they were $199 each at Sears.

Does this Old G.E. disposal have that Carboly cutter?

My Aunt had this disposal from 1974 until 2004. I've used it so many times and not once did it clog or jam.

What ever happend to trash compactors?

I've had a Kenmore compactor since 2003 and cannot live without it. I live on the third floor of my building and this saves me trips out to the trash/recycling bins out back. I change my compactor bag every 2-3 weeks.

    Is this Kenmore DW reliable?

    Vintage Sears Catalogs on Ancestry.com

These catalogs were a trip down memory lane. I found so many of the toys from my childhood that I had forgotten about. Does anyone have any links to other Sears/JC Penney catalogs?

    Which portable dishwasher?

If I had to pick out a brand new one I would have to go with Maytag. Their portable model has a food grinder and sani-rinse option. The Kenmore and Whirlpool models have the filter you need to clean out. Frigidaire only has an 18 inch portable model.

    appliances on Andy Griffith

I just watched this episode of Andy Griffith(season 6) on netflix. This episode is called Aunt Bee on TV. She demonstrated the disposal with a piece of cake. It looks to be an Insinkerator when she is on the game show. In the same season is another episode called Lost & Found. Aunt Bee thinks...

    Cascade Platinum

I picked up a trial size at Target yesterday that had 2 pacs for $1. Pretty impressed overall. My silverware was much shinier that when I use any other detergent!

    ISE Evolution Compact

Yesterday I replaced my ISE 777ss with the Evolution Compact. The first thing is it is unbelievably quiet. I'm not crazy about the splash guard but I can deal with it. The thing that did bother me was that it seems to take much longer to grind food than any other disposer that I've ever had. I...

    Maytag Bobload?

I think it was the sun in the pic but the dishes were nastier than they looked. That was a 2-3 day load and there was egg yolk, coffee, chinese food, dried milk, and sausage grease. The pot with the casserole mix was worse than the pic...I couldn't even scrape it off. I should have taken a pic...
