I bought a new in the box G.E. it's a well I am not sure of the year.I think it's a late 70s model but can't find any info on it at all.

I know it is a induction motor type but as far as that I am not sure.I have never seen a old  G.E. with that type of hook up on that

is what puzzles me on the year it was made in?

Cool GE Disposall

Usually if it had the Carboloy Cutter it said it on the outside, but it is easy to just look inside and see if it does [ it is a tiny 1/4" square piece of metal welded to the inside of the cutter ring ] If this is the real 1725 RPM induction unit you got a good Disposall, the cheaper shaded pole units also work pretty well but do not grind the food waste very fine [ so don't use them on less than perfect drain systems ]. The only other problem with the SP motors is they always sounded awful when running, LOL.

Yep it does have the Nerf foam all over it..I had a Hotpoint that looked just like that and everything save for the color and it did have that carbide cutter in

it..I sold the Hotpoint to a friend of mine...Shipping is slow cause that foot of snow and ice we got.

I also just got a 1972 Whirlpool new in the box batch feed induction only one I have ever seen ever.

It tells you to grind paper,steak,rib-bones,any and all food including Oyster and clam shells and Cigars,Cigarette,Plastic forks,

any thing save for metal. When or if it jams it backs it does this reverse ram thing till it bust through.Strange grind setup but very fast and HUGE machine, the same size as a Old Maytag Batch feed..I had one of those Whirlpool through the sink 12,000 R.P.M.

jobs and HATED it.That has to be the loudest disposer I have ever used.

Look in the shred chamber to see if it has the Carboloy shredder block.Yes,the disposer is strong enough to grind plastic forks, paper, and such--BUT sewage and septic systems aren't designed to handle these things-shredded or not.Paper and plastic forks should go in the TRASH can--food for Leach,Heil,EZ-Pak,Pak-Mor and so on.The trash trucks have to eat,too besides the disposers.Just diffrent "food".

Looking at the pictures of that GE machine--the mount is so like ISE??The body looks like GE-Hotpoint disposers-but that mount?Sewage systems do have heavy duty grinders-"Muffin Monster"Look on their website they show these shredders grinding up everything from shoes to blankets, whole peices of food, chicken carcusses, even a couch!BUT--its getting the waste to that shredder! That grinder is a long way down the line-so non food and sewage items can cause clogs.Their grinders have like 5Hp motors on up.Would be an interesting addition to a disposal collection!

Oh I would love to look in it but I don't have it the ge yeyetE ice we got has slowed everything down bad,it won't
get here for a week or so and its bugging me bad.
I think it does have that carbide cutter in there but that mount has
me wondering.
That old Whirlpool I got finely is the one that says it can grind
all that stuff and I have tested it with it stuffed with steak bones
plastic forks and corn husks. It chewed through that stuff like it wasn't there.
I don't know why Whirlpool disposers are so hard to find, this
was the only one I have ever seen and grabbed it.
I now have a new favorite it's to bad they stopped making these
it's a huge powerful machine and made very well

Now can understand the mystery-don't have the machine in your hands-when you get it we can find out!!I am sort of kinda betting it does. Can you show us the Whirlpool machine?Thought those were actually built by ISE-or did WP build their disposers at another earlier time? What sort of shredders does the WP have?Inquiring minds want to know.Sounds like a REALLY tough disposer!like a commercial duty one.The WP disposer almost sounds like its a "Muffin Monster" shredder! And yes,the mount on that GE has me wondering,too-will an ISE disposer fit on it?
