Oh, nice RCA Matt! My aunt had a Zenith that size. Contemporary also, before the Allegro series with the 2.5 G tonearm. She and my mom adored Humperdink. I thought it sounded way better than our plastic portable avocado Silvertone. I forgot to mention earlier that My 3 way floor speakers are...

FM is still hifi, and has always been compressed. High definition FM came out, and I have never even heard what it sounds like. My 1992 GMC Sierra SLT had AM Stereo. I didn't see the point. It just wasn't FM. I see even here, with the stuff you guy's have, I'm no audiophile.

Indded Matt. The stereo wars in the 70s were competitive and they were often rated conservatively and even surpassed the published spec's. The type of measuring equipment matters too. The power transformers were larger and that makes a big difference even at the same watt ratings. A new example...

Oh, nobody needs a snotty or snobby attitude. A hobby is meant for enjoyment. If they can't be helpful, or at least say it works for them, but may not for others, then bye bye!

Well no Matt, I doubt I can be considered an audiophile. My ear is more discriminating of detail than many though. Your friend's MC 2100 is from 1977, and then most of their better units were still hybrid tube. .025% thd is marginal. My Pioneer SX 780 was .005%. He has some fine stuff for sure...

Oh Connie O' Oh Connie O'! I can disturb the neighbors if I want to as well. Viki Carr, Ingelbert, etc. I forgot to mention that most new amps. do not have Pre-outs or Main inputs for a graphic equalizer. If you have a source with a built in preamp, you can use one with it plugged into an...

Yes it all depends on the format, bit resolution, quality of mixing and sound engineering, and personal ear attenuation. Streaming is the most popular today especially with the younger people. There are excellent streaming options but they are pricey. That said, vynil can also vary in fidelity...

What Temp Is Your Thermostat Set?

True, and frequent set points changes are not optimal. Raising git when it's hotter and relowering it makes it run longer to cool the house back down.

What Temp Is Your Thermostat Set?

Thats the first item my sister got too Jim. Our bill last month was $168, but June was hotter than last year. We're cooling 1,430 sq. ft. on the main floor, plus as much in the basement. No basement door, and vents closed down there. Normally set at 76 unless it's very humid. 2.5 ton unit...

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

No they don't. The EPA and some states are now requiring sump pump backflow valves to stop contaminated water from leeching into the ground water table for dwellings and buildings close to lakes, rivers and streams. Just one example. If a sump pump floods a basement, sewage water can mix with...

It was all the flourocarbons that caused the ozone hole, not only one. Hairsprays, deoderants, R-12 refrigerant (Dichloridiflorimethane}, etc., etc.

    Whirlpool / Kenmore Washer Production 1969 - 16mm

The washer being boxed looks mor like a comparable Kenmore "70". Cycle timer, temp. dial, water level dial, or one was wash, and the other rinse temps. Some earlier 70's had sliding water level actuators with reset at the far right.

Why Has Whirlpool Never Sold a BOL Power Clean Module?

Bosch has always had a removable filter even on US models. Many GE have also. I think the Nautilus one from the 90s, too. It was at the back of the tub. More of a screen pocket. My GE has an oval one. Not a fine filter, but for larger things.
