The dishwasher with the gross filter is very typical because people don’t know how to use dishwashers. We see it fairly frequently.
Or perhaps, they are realistic enough to know that the function of a dishwasher is to clean dishes.
This comes from using the one hour cycle that has no heat. It also is from using cheap Eco detergent that do not work, and we constantly see people who literally throw the detergent in The dishwasher rather than putting it in the dispenser which further ruins performance there’s a lot of idiots out there that’s for sure.
Right, because people want their dishes done in an hour. I think the constant use of the 1 hour cycle speaks for itself as to what consumers actually want and need.
American dishwashers are the end of the world for their great performance while probably half the people in the US do prerinse they’ve always done it. They don’t understand how machines work they don’t understand that your dishes actually get cleaner if you put them in dirtier
People pre-rinse due to the fact so many US dishwashers lacked fine filters, long enough main washes, ample hot water, maceration and good water distribution. Every single dishwasher outside of the Whirlpool Power Clean Filter Module, high end Maytag Jet Cleans, some Kitchen-Aids and the GSD2800 lacked in some or all these categories.
US Dishwashers become the best in the world, by far when the Whirlpool Power Clean Filter Module and Maytag JetClean with the long heated main wash came to the market. After that, they've become some of the worst in the world.
Maytag jet, clean dishwashers constantly had clogged wash arms little bit of plastic things go right around that filter system. It was not that great a system. It was one of the most frequent service calls. We did on the plastic tub jet clean Maytag.
Plastic bits do not belong in any dishwasher. Just like they should not go in a garbage disposal. This I would actually call user error.
Filters in modern dishwashers do not accumulate soil if the dishwasher is being used properly filter will self clean. They need very little if any cleaning in the life of the dishwasher.
I think used properly is a relative word in this thread with variable goal posts.
That said the best system in the world currently is the self cleaning micro screen filter system that KitchenAid and Maytag using their premium dishwashers. It has a much finer filter than any removable filter and since it’s spinning at 3400 RPMs and has two wiper veins on it, it never clogs and never needs any cleaning.
Still can't do what a Power Clean can do.
The system also uses the most powerful motor and most durable type of motor of any dishwasher sold in the world right now.
1/16th house power vs 1/3 horse power. What a tragedy.
