It's laundry day every three or four weeks here

I don't own enough clothes to only do wash once every 3 weeks John lol, wow that's a lot of wash to have to fold all at once! I love using my machines so the longest I go without doing laundry is about 4 days. I generally do 6 different types of wash loads and only do them when their...

GM Makes A Strange Washing Machine

If I am not mistaken, wasn’t the Rollermatic mechanism based off of/have roots to the Pulsamatic mechanism? No that is incorrect, it was the Multimatic that based off of the original Pulsamatic. The Rollermatic was a completely new design. There are so many factual errors in that video.

Never Opened Mint In Box 1957 Philco Predicta TV Set Unboxing

Just saw this video which is super cool. These guys found a never opened 1957 Philco Predicta Television Set. The video is a bit long so if you advance to the 16:30 minute mark they show the box being opened and removed...

    Fetched Today

Yay, hopefully all is well with the Unimatic. I rebuilt the mechanism about 17-18 years ago. I put a NOS pulsator in it so that looks to still be in fine shape albeit it has yellowed from it's original gray (like they all do) but it should still work perfectly. When you get it hooked up let...

    PotD 11/20/2024 - Old-Fashioned Center-Post Jerk-Jerk Agitator

What was Westinghouse's reasoning then when they started marketing TOP LOADERS....first outsourced from Easy and then of their own design..... I would assume nothing more than increasing bottom line as top loaders were king then.

    Frigidaire Unimatic

That is either the start switch is sticking and not letting the motor out of the start windings or the capacitor is getting weak and not giving enough power boost to the motor to get the motor up to speed during spin acceleration keeping the motor in the start mode.

    GM Frigidaire 1-18 Gentle Speed

Is the new motor heavier than the old one? Notice any issues with the tub starting to lean towards the right? Hi Jamie, no the weight of the new motor is within a pound of the old motor's weight, these 3 phase motors are bigger size wise but actually slightly lower in weight.

    GM Frigidaire 1-18 Gentle Speed

Is there a video of your 1-18 in action ?? Hi Austin, no I haven't done a video, the agitation speeds are all the same as the original design, the only difference is a 260rpm increase in spin speed on high so it's not all that different. But it makes for a much more cost efficient machine with...

    GM Frigidaire 1-18 Gentle Speed

Hi John, no pulley remained the same, motor is 3 phase with controller connected directly to washer timer via relays.

    GM Frigidaire 1-18 Gentle Speed

No 910rpm is fine Bob, however the suspension system doesn't like anything over 1000, but 910 still produces very dry clothes in that machine.

    GM Frigidaire 1-18 Gentle Speed

I updated my 1-18 to the following speeds... Normal speed: 360ppm agitate and 910rpm spin. Delicate Speed: 240ppm agitate and 650rpm spin.

Taking a Count of Who Wants Frigidaire 3-Ring Agitator Parts and possibly Norge Boot

Hi Dan, thank you. Quick question, so how does this part go bad when it does and does this happen often with KD-18s? I'm just asking as it appears to only deflect the water inwards to the upper rack tube. Is this a part that people are often looking for?

Glad you guys like them, it sure is amazing to look in and see how the rings looked in the store in 1958 looking down into the machine. It was breathtaking to me when I first saw it. Dan yes I have an KDS-18 now in the kitchen. I had a NOS never used KDI-17 and converted it into a KDS-18...

Taking a Count of Who Wants Frigidaire 3-Ring Agitator Parts and possibly Norge Boot

Lastly I wanted to post installation instructions for the lint chaser and circulator rings. They aren't terribly hard to install but I figured out a few tricks to make it easier. They were molded from new old stock rings, so just like they are suppose to when they are brand new they fit really...

Taking a Count of Who Wants Frigidaire 3-Ring Agitator Parts and possibly Norge Boot

There have been several threads over the years about getting Westinghouse boots made - strictly out of curiosity, is that something your technique could reproduce? Or those Kelvinator boots that are also NLA?. Hi James, Kelvinator boots for sure I should be able to make and that is on my list...
