    Champion (Parnall) Spin-Washer - Disassembly.

Gear Oil I did a Google search for "Shell Trochus Oil" as well as the alternatives "Shell J50" and "Carnea 69", but I did not find any relevant results. I believe that any brand of gear oil will work for the transmission, but I just need to find out what weight it requires.

    Champion (Parnall) Spin-Washer - Disassembly.

What's Next The cleaning phase of the job is pretty much complete now. Now, I'll start slowly reassembling the machine. Does someone know what weight of oil I can use for the gearbox and how much to put in it?

Power Cord Finally, I put together a new plug for my machine. After running some tests, I can confirm that the timer, motor, and pump on the machine are fully functional. The 'Power On' light is burnt out, but the 'Wash Finished' light does work. I might post clips of those tests later, but...

I also bought the correct size hoses for my water valve, which has a clamp-on input.

Transmission Update Secondly, I went ahead and disassembled the machine's gearbox. I took it outside and used my degreaser to degrease the case and the gears. I scraped away the gunk on the outside of the case and finished it off with my metal sponge. After giving the gears some attention, I...

The cabinet itself turned out fine, apart from a small spot that I tried to fix while it was drying; It ended up spider-webbing.

This is the back panel that I practiced on. I'm honestly alright with how it turned out. You can't even tell that it's patchy without a reflection.

    Champion (Parnall) Spin-Washer - Disassembly.

17/04/2024 update I have some new updates on the Champion washing machine. Firstly, I went to Bunnings and purchased myself some cans of Rustoleum Appliance Epoxy. I then began spray-painting the panels and the machine's base plate. I've never painted appliances before, so I used the back...

Discussing Haiers new F&P washer (WL8058G1).

About three months ago, I came across the new Fisher & Paykel (Haier) washing machine, model number WL8058G1. Opening the lid, I was shocked to see that it was not a SmartDrive™ unit. Rather, the internals came from Haier's self-branded washing machine, which featured the low-profile agitator...

    Older Maytag Washer info needed

To Stan: Hello Stan. I have a Maytag similar to yours from 1989, and I think I can help you with identifying your issue. Your description of a burning smell suggests the motor is either struggling to run or is breaking down. If you tip the machine back slightly and remove both belts, you can...

    Ever seen this lint filter?

Unique filter. Yeah, I've seen a few Malleys Whirlpools with that type of lint filter. I believe that attachment is unique to the Malleys style of Whirlpool which is found in Australia. It is very similar to the filters found in US Speed Queens back in the '60s. When the agitator shifts...

    Champion/Parnall Spin-Washer parts (Wanted)

I don't need an immediate response to this. Just in case someone has any available parts for a Champion (Parnall) Spin-Washer. I'm attempting to restore one from 1967, but the lack of spare parts is hitting me a little bit. Below in particular: The most important part is the Snubber-Seal...

    Champion (Parnall) Spin-Washer - Disassembly.

The next step I'm going to see if I can paint a few of the parts that are scratched up and rusty. The transmission also still needs its job.
