    1963 Kenmore 70 Dryer

Friends had that dryer; replaced it with a late 60s matchall. I think the matchall had soft heat.

    Tappan trash compactor

For a few years, I lived in a condo that had a genuine, original Whirlpool compactor. I went to the Tribles appliance parts store a few miles away and bought a package of bags for it. I was the only person on my court between two buildings to use my compactor. All others had these billowing...

    Modern Living: Part Sixteen

Great ads! Thanks. The Presto stamped aluminum and stamped stainless steel cookers had concave bottoms which were not good on electric ranges, although if you waited 60 years, the Stainless Steel cookers would work well on induction units. The mirror bright aluminum did not stay mirror bright...

POD 5-3-25 WP Poly Clean Center

I wonder how many employees of the coin op dry cleaning centers died of illnesses brought on by exposure to the chemicals. I read that the final exhaust from the dry cleaning machines, while sent to the outside was sucked back in through the stores' gas dryers and formed an acidic compound that...

The other thing you could do is lift the oven thermostat knob and put an electric range under it.

    Real Vintage Dishwasher Detergent

Those were probably the packages that manufacturers packed in new machines. That practice was abandoned in favor of coupons.

    Iterations of the Waring Blendor

It was the band leader Fred Waring who invented the appliance. They kept the non-removable blades in the jar until into the 1970s, which was OK for mixing drinks, but a mess with food. Then came the snap out blades in the original style jar and finally the jar with the removable base.

    KitchenAid stand mixers

An engineer at Hobart took their first mixer home for his wife to try out. She really liked it and told the engineers that it was the best kitchen aid she had ever used and thus the name of the mixer and the home appliance division was born.

POD 4-28-25 Maytag All-Fabric Washer With Lint Filter Agitator

Is it for the narrow post agitator or the lint filter agitator?

Avocado Drop in GE P7 in San Antonio

A former neighbor replaced hers in the late 80s. It cost a fortune and it was not a self cleaner, but it was a very limited production item by then. I have never understood why such a big house had this little range.
