I wouldn't be surprised if Whirlpool eventually got connected to the internet later in the 201st century to build their website and research and develop more laundry products.

That may explain why the whirlpool direct drive was built and sold by the millions. They built the Maytag line years later until 2011.

I wouldn't be surprised if the Clyde facility was huge during the direct drive era and GE was small potatoes even into the 90s when they adopted the dual action agitator compared to Whirlpool.

I'm wondering if the Clyde facility has grown since then and through the decades including the 80s when the direct drives came out.

I would like to, but it seems to me that both the Whirlpool and Maytag commercial models are no different from each other. I am talking about both commercial units. I suspect the name plates are the only differences.

I thought the commercial Whirlpool and Maytag washers have a thicker belt.

I hope it washes well. Not to get off topic, but did the Frigidaire 18 inch dishwashers alternate their spray arms ever? I'm just curious. Now back to the subject. On a slightly related note, I believe the Whirlpool commercial washers and dryers should be VMW.

The Kenmore by Bosch could clean circles around the Whirlpool. I remember when I first opened the Bosch built Kenmore, I had a face full of water.

Are you sure? It sounded like it was spinning at 10 rpm on the upper rack, even with a full water charge.

It wouldn't even do that, even with a full water charge. It wasn't spinning this slow when my dad first got it.

I ran my dishwasher with the door open to see why the upper rack was spinning the spray arm so slowly. Come to find out that the spray was very weak in my Whirlpool/Kenmore dishwasher.

I would put a real pump behind it.

I agree 100%. Unfortunately, that will never happen. I wish it did.
