Fixing it about now. Searching for the boneyard. Time to save the control panel off the 2021 unit (WTW4816FW2) and put it on this.
I do have another one, a Whirlpool WTW4815EW1 washer (made on 12th week of 2016) with a broken tub and an Amana NTW4605EW0 (made on 46th week of 2015) also with a...
Interesting, usually these constantly drain when the boards go bad, but their Inglis washer instead had cycle issues. Interesting failure mode. I just got in a WTW4816FW3 today from September, 2024 that’s constantly draining and throwing F3E1.
Because they are better than Whirlpools these days in my opinion. Some of the GE’s and older Whirlpool VMW’s drain constantly too but not as common as these new Whirlpools.
I don’t know. I’ve been getting so many of these new VMWs that do this. And so many other people report it. I see them all over social media and the internet.
I most commonly get the 2023 and early 2024 models but this one was a later 2024 model.
I know I posted things about Whirlpool washers multiple times, but I don’t think I’ve did a full discussion on how much Whirlpool has declined, even during the VMW and VMAX era.
Whirlpool has massively declined recently in most ways. They also made the balance ring smaller on their VMW and VMAX...
I had this same exact machine, only lasted about 5 years. It had the bearing and hub go and I’ve junked it and a got used direct drive Maytag Centennial MVWC500VW1.
And since it had a bad bearing I wasn’t going to put a hub on it I decided that it was ready to go.
I was originally going to buy...
And after that day I even did a gearcase on a Maytag MVWX700XL2 with bad bearings, don't usually do gearcases on VMWs but the owner of it wanted it fixed as she said “if I change the washer I’ll need to change the dryer. If you fix it It’ll work like brand new and it still works it’s just loud”...
My favorite washer is personally the Maytag dependable care following the direct drives from Whirlpool. I also like Speed Queen washers and the GE Filter Flos.
I now own a direct drive and it’s a great machine I’d still love to get a dependable care. The reason why my username is...
This was my favorite washing machine of all time, even better than the Whirlpool direct drives. They lasted at least 25 years if properly maintained, much longer than any new machine.
They also had great cleaning action. They cleaned well but weren’t as aggressive as direct drives. Maytag...
The Speed Queen TC5 is actually a good modern washer but I can’t have an opinion on the TR series but I’ve worked on some. Not too sure about how good the TR is but that also seems well built.
Speed Queen washers are built like tanks but are pretty expensive and they will last 25 years on...
LG fridges are junk, I keep trashing them for bad compressors. They are so unreliable. Even a Samsung fridge is better than an LG at this point.
If you want a reliable fridge, just get a Whirlpool, GE, or Frigidaire. Get anything but LG.
I had to deal with my horrible Whirlpool VMW WTW5000DW3 washer for 6 years, the bearing is bad and eventually the hub went out. I decided to get a new washer instead of fixing this one.
It had the impeller and didn’t wash great. It also had spray rinsing. The bearing went out and eventually the...
I now usually get the newer GE’s and the Whirlpool VMWs for repairs, I got several VMWs today (none of them roaring today and most were repairable this time).
I got in this 2004 GE Model-T WCSR4170D5WW, they said it wasn’t spinning and I had to remove a sock from the pump, a sock got stuck in...
And I got a few more roarers today. So many bad gearcases in this load.
One is a Maytag MVWX700XL1 (made on 31st week of 2011). This one was roaring very loud during spin cycle
Maytag MVWB835DW4 (made on 42nd week of 2019). Roaring on spin cycle, bad bearings in gearcase.
Amana NTW4605EW0 (made...
At this point I’m liking the newer GE’s over the Whirlpools. GE Has cheaper parts and don’t have the same control board issues.
The newest Whirlpools will constantly drain and throw an F3E1
That Whirlpool I got in is probably the most problems I’ve ever seen in a junk washer.
