    Good Bye John Bloom....

Well the 3rd March was a sad day in Washing Machine history, sadly John Jacob Bloom passed away at the age of 87 - RIP Such an inspiring man who made such a dent in the washing machine market in the 60’s, he gave the competition a run for there money !! Keith

    Watch this video

I thought the twin tub looked a bit like one of those Perobot machines...but they just had one big lid instead of seperates. I like the spin discharge chute to the side no hose empty. Cheers Keith

    Do You Have Favourite Thread...

Do you have a thread that you look at time and time again ? There are some great threads on here with an array of information, one that I return to every now and again is the one attached "History of Servis" Servis was one of the best manufacturers, machines had fab styling and built to last...

    Wilkins servis drain hose problem

...oh no, from what i can remember the wash motor doesn’t have a capacitor, it maybe a faulty terminal on the rotary dial..? Usually these go on for ever 🤔

    Wilkins servis drain hose problem

Hi Adam, Unfortunately these twinline hoses are really hard to come by now, i remember buying one direct from Servis in the 90’s when it was under National Homecare in the UK, but that was expensive then £50 in 1994!! You could try fixing it with a flexible proxy resin. Most replacements are...

Frigidaire SDJ Automatic Spin Dryer made 1969

Hi Mathew, As far as I can see the Mastertwin does use the same components as the Frigidaire spin dryers. Mine is currently at my mum's - one of my new year's resolutions is to get a few machines back up and running this year after I get back from India. I think I may have to put an...

Frigidaire SDJ Automatic Spin Dryer made 1969

Hi Mike, great machine and in such good condition with a complete drain spout, as you know these have usually perished. I had one but the timer busted and tried to bypass the timer switch but didnt really work and to dangerous!! so i ditched it. I digged through the archives and found the...

Identify this Hoover Twin Tub for me

Hi Adam, I have had a look through a service manual, and i guess i would say it is model 3334A - the left dial would be a 4 way rotary dial (off - on - off - on) Keith

    AEG Lava Lux

Hi Darren, I have two Lavalux’s one with the blue spinner drum & one with the copper drum. From what i remember the machine is in panels. The top is bolted down the the main frame. Changing the bearings could be interesting, not a fan of changing them on any machine. Good luck 👍 Keith

    Twin tub companion

Hi Adam, Looking at the HG Palmers machine there look to be many similarities with the Burco 21 from the early 60's in the UK, the position of the control panel, the agitator, even the valve control, while the Burco 21 had the spin water returned to the wash tub automatically unless you had...

    Radiomarelli Twin Tub

Hi Mike, good point and that would answer the amount of holes around the tub..it would be great to see this machine in action, my initial thoughts on the spinner were that of the AEG Lavalux without a lid. The Perobot were interesting machines...i purchased a few years ago one of the china...

    Radiomarelli Twin Tub

Hi Simon, the tub is interesting with all those holes..i think the water sloshes through the holes and back over the clothes...the wash action could be that of a Frigidaire. The hose is probably the same as the Candy Bi-matic i have just accquired from Italy, it is concealed inside the machine...
