Trisodium Dicarboxymethyl Alaninate (MGDA-Na3) is primarily a chelating agent, and its role in formulations is to bind metal ions rather than directly influence sudsing behavior. However, it can indirectly affect sudsing by stabilizing the formulation and improving the performance of surfactants...

i wonder how a maytag washer made by speed queen would look like

Like Panasonicvac said, if, IF ALS somehow buys Maytag (and Amana), it would purely be for the patents and IP. ALS is totally all in on the Speed Queen name, especially since they’re making more inroads in residential. At most, they would rebadge a few TC or TR units with the Maytag logo. But...

    my fear

Check to see if the wires are loose going to the drain pump. Hopefully it’s an easy fix before getting worse.

    Maytag MVW7230HW thoughts, opinions?

Wild coincidence. My old neighbor friends had the same washer but with the wash plate version. They loved it but it just failed a few weeks ago also. The suspension rods were shot, it bounced around. The cold inlet valve was cracked and weeping. And the drain motor started cutting in and out...

"New and improved" cascade platinum and platinum plus.

Yeah I have to agree. I'm 100% percent certain that the chemists at P&G KNOW this happens, and are compromising on suds because something else in the formula is being forced on them by either cost or marketing. Or B) the chemists' hands are tied by some kind of desire from P&G marketing, and...

    Revised Whirlpool Models coming

Since Jerome only deals in marketing jargon, the newest Whirlpool dishwasher platform, that has the rectangular shaped sump, and much taller tub space, has been called the "Eco Series" when it has the manual filter cup. This filter cup layout I've seen so far on all Whirlpool models, the lower...

Epitome of proper daily laundry sorting???

OMG, what a technological nightmare. Has China increased their recycling efforts over the years? There's gonna be a lot of these in the trash within 2yrs of sale.

what could this be new model washer dryer by speed queen

Wow I’m surprised to see that! It’s kinda been Speed Queen’s thing to mostly ignore the residential market and let them take what Speed Queen has. These are popular features that make SQ dryers (IMO) actually competitive with the existing mass market brands. Interesting move.

If Whirlpool were to bring back the Direct Drives

You guys are off your rockers. There’s another thread already talking about how WP can barely stand on their own right now. AND, they still make the DD transmission but the tooling is so worn out, they’re not very good quality anymore. It’s not really the government preventing the DD from...

Is it over for Whirlpool ?

John, you make valid points on Whirlpool’s footprint, impact on community, technology and innovation. But none of that matters in our financial infested world, in light of this press release: “A Look at Whirlpool Corporation's Growth Numbers” “Over the last three years, Whirlpool Corporation...

Friend Called.. They got a new Maytag TL Washer

I’ve also noticed a lot of reviews will be negative more about the “delivery service” or the store service vs the actual appliance. And it’s not uncommon to see reviews under a cereal washer, to actually be a different part number. Or! Not a washer at all, but the dryer, or a refrigerator...

    Some good dirty fun

That pan came out awesome! I’ve noticed that the thunderbolt arm scrubs stuff like this a “little” better than the hydro sweep arm. But I keep the hydro sweep in more often because it’s great and gentle enough for me to put wine glasses on the bottom rack.

    Some good dirty fun

This isn’t a Bobload post but a fun cleanability post. Glass baking pan and lid. Baked beef braciole in marinara. KUDS25 Finish Power pac in the main wash. 7th Generation powder in the long 30min PreWash since I ran Soak & Scrub. Really not bad results for what I thought was more burned...

Cascade powder is intermittent in my area. And all stores seem to only designate one slot for it now.

    Speed Queen Home 2025

I would argue the DD large tubs needed dual action. The tubs were so deep and skinny there was no way a single action agitator would turn over a load of towels or jeans.

    Speed Queen Home 2025

I’m pretty sure SQ hasn’t has flex vanes in decades, maybe forever. Their vanes all look very rigid. One piece with the agitator bell.

"New and improved" cascade platinum and platinum plus.

Oh yeah did anyone need bigger Platinum packs? I’ve steered more of my money away from PG the last several years. One caveat I would still buy powder Cascade regularly except the stores around me only carry it intermittently now. It’s all about the pods apparently 👎

    Samsung 240 volt Vented Combo!

Whirlpool; “ because they try to maintain their top notch status for reliability in the laundry industry.” Hah. I think that ship has sailed in the post-Covid years. WP reliability is slipping a lately.

    EPA Reversals

Agreed with William. When the bladders go out, they can lose elasticity or rupture. Which diminishes how much pressure they can create per fill. That’s how my aunts’ tank failed also. Started short cycling. https://plumbingsniper.com/how-to-test-a-bad-pressure-tank/
