Whirlpool no longer an appliance technology leader?

Jeez Louise! Whirlpool doesn’t get the self clean spinning filter. That’s for the premium brands only. And. Their MARKETING MARKETING MARKETING team don’t name the wash system anything. Get out of your jammies and go to the store and look at them.

    GE profile filter-flo

This unhealthy obsession with gear oil….. GE engineers made the decisions they thought best with the criteria and budget given. To think Jack Welch knew or cared about washer specs is hilarious….and weird. What happened to this site?

You pay for what you get...

I do need to correct myself. I assumed dishwashers when I saw Permatuff. Laundry I have no idea. But the Dws, plastic was to save their butts in defects.

You pay for what you get...

Well if you really read all these forums you keep resurrecting, you’d learn that GE’s tubs were a weird polymer coated steel that was quite prone to rusting. Moving to plastic was the smartest thing they did.

Whirlpool no longer an appliance technology leader?

Jiminie jilikers. Whirlpool’s dishwashers ARE the same design as KitchenAid and Maytag. They differentiate them in the marketplace with MARKETING. The WP line uses filter cups. It’s the Chevrolet of dishwashers. Jeez. It’s been years. How do you not know this? You live on this site...

    Fanless Whirlpool Microwave

Companies certainly act stupid but not for the reasons you two potatoes keep going on about.

Goils, goils! (Gru voice) Mr. Honolulu is a troll. First rule of internet. Do not feed the troll. And since we’re all about anecdotes here these days; my parents’ WPMT VMW top loader is going on 8 years of trouble free service.

    New Dishwasher

WP has always had a rather large spray gap in their lower arms. It’s perplexing but somehow has negligible impact.

Bosch weighs offer for appliance maker Whirlpool

#37 Yeah I suspect that if BSH buys WP, expect at least at 50% reduction in force. They will combine WP ops with their existing North Carolina ops as well as EU. Close down most WP factories, also. The crappy thing is, because publicly traded WP’s market cap has tanked so much, the...

    AI in laundry...

SHAME Shame!!! Shame on these companies putting AI in electronic appliances and trying to sell more by seeing what sticks in the market! I’m the only one who matters and my single purchase should be enough to sustain a multi-billion dollar corporation! /s

    Tide Tiles

Anything to get away from all the plastic jugs and containers. That junk is gonna hang around for so long. I’m all for the increase and return to paperboard packaging.

New Kitchenaid DW W/auto open 39 db/water softener

Interesting! As usual, WP/KA's website is absolute trash. I see from the AJ site photos, there looks to be a slightly modified wash arm design! Yes, anything in this platform that is less than 40db, has the manual clean filter cups. The Power Filter mechanism can't reach that low level of...

My apartment dishwasher isn't cleaning very well. Any advice?

I'll chime in and say that, unfortunately, once you land on a good combo of detergent for your water conditions, sometimes the detergent brand will "reformulate." You'll then get weird results you're not used to. I've had this happen in the past. Procter & Gamble is NOTORIOUS for constantly...

    Tide Clean Boost Fabric Rinse

LOL! Attempt no.2 by P&G? All the Downy Fabric rinse around me was stuck on shelves until my local grocery stores and Target moved it all to clearance. That’s when I tried it last year for $7 a bottle. It was useless to me. In fact it added MORE suds to me final rinse. Especially with towels...

    KDTM604KPS

Whirlpool-made dishwashers, all the way back to the pressure sensor KUDS25 will activate the “medium soil” level of the cycle program if “Hi Temp” is selected. So you got two pre-rinses because of that. ProWash will almost always do 1 prewash, also. Normal, to save water, will go right to...

    Help! need a new Dishwasher

Maybe start a private vintage appliance commune? You’re forgetting these companies are in business to make money for their shareholders. Even Whirlpool’s engineering has has been truncated to save cost while making appliances customers today will buy. Yeah I now have two Poweclean KAs. But...
