So far I see a small leak that I believe is my drain hose not being tight enough, and the motor bearings sound AWFUL!!! I think I’m gonna need a new motor...
I haven't been terribly impressed with the late model Whirlpools I've seen myself, it will give acceptable results if you use something like Bubble bandit or Cascade fryer boil, but it still takes a 4-5 hour cycle, and it really only does well when all the various options are selected. The...
Hook up the Thermador and try it out, or as I tend to say: Dip a titty in the water and see what we got workin', when I get home after work? This will be the first time I hook up and run a dishwasher that is known to need work, and I don't want to do it wrong and risk making anything worse.
The smaller ones, usually around 1 HP, are usually single phase, but are 240V. One thing I love about the old Waste Kings, they were made to be repaired. Sadly you can’t get parts anymore though!
That’s for washing the body during the preparation process. You can also see there that motor at the left of the big sink basin. That gets attached to a large needle like instrument via a rubber hose, and this gets poked into your gut and they stab it around and jab all of your organs with it to...
I know I'm in a small group, but I tend to really like those one arm KitchenAids. I think they do an amazing job cleaning and I don't find them difficult to load, and I find it takes effort to load it in a way that prevents to upper rack from coming clean. I really REALLY want to find one of the...
My goal is to fix it up to the point where I can install it, at least for a little while, and use it for a while. Then when it gives me a good reason I’ll put the Whirlpool back in.
Here in Denver our prices don’t usually hit the same highs, as we have a local refinery that for decades has supplied the vast majority of our fuel here. Sadly we’ve gone from a moderate Democrat governor who was supportive of the petroleum industry here to a ‘progressive’ one who is trying to...
I’ve noticed that, let’s say I’m on my iPhone (which I am at the moment), then end up logging on on my laptop, then my iMac, regardless of time elapsed, when I come back here on my phone I’ll have to log in again. I will say the login cookies do seem to remain active longer on a computer than a...
Is, finally, the WK Thermador dishwasher! So far I’ve been told it squeals, leaks, and needs a thermostat. I’ll post pictures upon arrival, and desperate pleas for help once I’ve spent some time checking it over and such in the coming weeks!
Didn’t Kitchenaid offer an enzyme detergent for the soak cycle when they added that back in the 70s?
I’ll be honest, especially in soft water enzymes seem to work excellently in laundry, but I haven’t been all that impressed with what modern dishwasher detergents do.
I’ve noticed on some of the things like eggs and such that if I put a Finish or other tab in the prewash the enzymes start to break it down and then the powder detergent completely removes the rest.
