Watch the meter spin... GE Carry Cools are tremendous energy hogs by todays standards. I went back and looked at an old post on one of these. 7.5 amps for 4,000 BTUs. A current model GE window unit will give you 10,000 BTUs for the same 7.5 amps.

Runs but doesn't cool Frigidaire refrigerators from GM always had the bulletproof metermiser compressor, so when they quit cooling, its likely a refrigerant leak, and often in the evaporator. Not worth the effort IMHO
