Once again...6,000 BTUs for 10amps? A new GE will give you 10,000 BTUs for 7.5 amps, and probably 12,000 or more for 10amps. No wonder my parents never ran the window unit at night when I was a kid at home. Only on a very few nights did they run it all night and what a treat that was. Otherwise open windows and fans.
