    Jeep considers production in China

Oh come on... If its on the internet, it must be true, right? Did anyone bother going to the horse's mouth to check this out? http://blog.chryslerllc.com/blog.do?id=1932&p=entry

Shopping for new washer & dryer

Hydrowave The one Hotpoint listed on their website does appear to be a hydrowave based. I don't think GE is making any transmission models anymore, even in BOL machines.

New GE 3.9 cu ft. Agitator Washer

Now at Lowes I saw both of these machines now on sale at Lowes. At least they will make a much better alternative than the infusor models that just bounced clothes around on the bottom of the tub. The one infusor model they had was on clearance sale. Both models are hydrowave, even though the...

New GE 3.9 cu ft. Agitator Washer

Perfect temp... Perfect temp is exactly as he said above. My 2005 all electronic has it shown on the front as Hot=100, Warm = 70, and cold is tap water. These two 3.9 machines differ a lot. The lesser priced machine appears to be a pre-hydrowave machine with a 2 speed motor, steel transmission...

    Pot metal corrosion

Is there anything that can be applied or sprayed on, to prevent or slow down the corrosion of pot metal in the bottom castings of washing machines??

    GE Nautilus?

Age is likely older This control console looks very similar to a GE Triton that I had in my previous house, that was installed new in 1998. So I'm betting its much older than "3 or 4" years.

KA bites the dust again: A shoppping I will go

Loose connection fixed ! Bob, I just had to fix that same problem on my inlaws dishwasher that I installed a year ago. She was complaining of a "hot electrical smell", and the wires had melted because of increased resistance, from them separating in the junction box. The house wiring was thick...

The new Ge washer comes home today.

The last of the best.... I have what I consider to be the last TOL GE that was NON-Energy Star rated. Its the WPRE8100 (2007 model), and because its not Energy Star rated, it fills to the TOP of the tub, not down 2" like the 8150 does. I also have the last one with a standard agitator, not that...

I need help with a dishwasher issue.

Drain hose If your drain hose connects to the garbage disposal, check the very end of it where it connects to the disposal. I replaced my dishwasher that had been installed for 10 years, and was amazed at the gunk built up inside the very end of the hose where it connects to the disposal, due...

    Frozen Fridge

My GE Profile had the water reservoir in a plastic tank, in the refrigerator area, behind the crisper drawers. So if it got to 29 degree's, it probably did freeze up, but no idea if the plastic could expand enough to avoid cracking the tank. Some GE's only have an evaporator in the freezer area...

    GE reliability

My GE track record I personally haven’t had that much trouble with any of my GE appliances The timeline starts when we moved into our first new house in 1983 Refrigeration: 1983 GE 20cf SXS, is still in operation at my in laws house, was replaced in 2000 by a GE 25cf SXS, due to color change...

Amana washer and dryer brochure scan.

Impressive brochure, thanks for posting I bought a set of these from Montgomery Wards, when they were going out of business in 2000, to replace a 'dancing' 1985 Maytag that wouldn't stay put in my new home. The steady balance system worked great. You could test them with an empty tub and a...

    GE Recall Front Loaders

From USA Today recently~~~ For GE, the increase in foreign costs tipped scales already shifting to the U.S. for certain products. The industrial giant announced last year that it will move assembly of its energy-efficient water heater from Chinese contractors to its own factory in Louisville in...

    Filter Flo ?

Is this an infamous Filter Flo? Any idea of the age? Looks like a great deal to me. Doesn't look like the consoles match to me. Comments please? http://wichita.craigslist.org/app/1844702787.html

We doin' big pimpin, we spendin' cheese... on Whirlpool appliances

Exactly Have we forgotten what washers are supposed to do? Just swish clothes through the water. Just like all the refrigerators today that have the temp settings on the outside freezer door. I buy a fridge, set the controls once, maybe change them once more, then they are set for life. All of...

What is the WORSE washer you have ever owned

I second the above Amana nomination Bought a T/L Amana in 2000, to replace a "dancing" 1983 Maytag that walked all the time. The tub bearing went out and took the motor with it at just 6 years of age. I guess I should have paid more attention to the bearing noise, but I was so disgusted with it...

    Maytag reverse rack dishwasher

Belt driven The interior on this one looks identical to the WU900 series model I had back in the mid 80's, and it was belt driven. Forced air inlet to the back right, and air was heated by the interior element. In fact it could maybe be a WU1000 of some kind? I thought mine was TOL with...

    I'm still confused

$350 Front loaders ? I want someone to explain to me why the pedestals these things sit on have to cost $200 each! Talk about overpriced pieces of sheetmetal for an empty box. There won't be any cheaper front loaders, until they get over the greed of charging that much for the pedestals first.

    Another Glass Dishwashing machine.

Exactly why I don't own a bagless vacuum cleaner. Some things are best left out of sight. But the dishwasher idea has some merit to it.
