Sears will never be the same....

Down to six I was on the GE website the other day, and they only had six conventional T/L washers shown. Two of them were the ones with the sawed off agitator, that use only a trickle of water in the bottom of the tub. So now you are down to only 4 TOTAL. We all knew in the back of our minds...

    KUDM24SEWH5

Two of EVERYTHING I always thought the Jed Clampett kitchen shown on the Beverly Hillbilies was a good idea. Two refrigerators, two stoves, two sinks, and two ovens. I have toyed with the idea of 2 dishwashers but never acted on it. I do have a washer/dryer upstairs and a second set downstairs...

    GE GLD4200L0WW

Slow water inlet Could be a slow water fill maybe. Possibly, the machine is starting to wash before the tub is fully filled, causing a suctioning noise in the pump assembly. Maybe the inlet valve screen has accumulate debris over the last 4 years resulting in a slow water fill. Just a guess.

Somethin's not quite right with this GE Hydrowave...

People put the wierdest things on You Tube This motor reverses back and forth to agitate. The motor is running but the tub is locked for some reason. What you hear is the motor turning, but the belt isn't. Without knowing more about what lead up to this, its hard to know whats happening for sure.

    Ebay -- I don't understand!!!

Sorry, but sniping works.... I agree with Dan. I open 2 windows, place my bid in one, and refresh the other. Then 10 seconds before the end of the auction, I pull the trigger. I put in the maximum amount I am willing to pay for the item, and if I lose it, I lose it. I figure this is a win/win...

GE - Made in the USA

A drop in the bucket, but at least a step in the right direction. The dishwasher assembly line is shown in the background. I'm sure the higher end stuff is still made in KY. http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/bestoftv/2009/08/10/ldt.ge.made.in.usa.cnn?iref=videosearch

    Maytag Stacked Age ??

Ok, forget the post on the Fridigaire FL, they sold them before they replied to me anyways. I'm was basically looking for something to go into an apartment alcove that will only hold either a stackable, or FLs that can be stacked. I have found a Maytag stacked unit, but was wondering on the age...

    Whirlpool Thin Twin

$50 ?!?! Fifty dollars? Must be nice. No one around here sells ANY brand of stackable unit on Craigslist for less than $300. I've been looking, unless I missed a quick buy. I did talk to an appliance store operator today who had one of these, and had just sold it. He said pretty much the same...

    Whirlpool Thin Twin

How old would you guess a Whirlpool Thin Twin to be, that is almond in color and has the glass dryer door window. Early to mid 80s? Would this machine still be worth having over a newer GE/Kenmore/Fridigaire clone stackables? Or would it be better to stack an older, used F/L Fridigaire. My son...

Why can't they just throw these in the dumpster?

So what do you suggest?,, My son will be moving into an apartment soon, and they only provide space for a stacked unit of some kind. I think the width demension was 30". So what should he get that would be dependable, and not break the bank, as he doesn't have much cash to buy anything real...

Videos of my new GE Hydrowave with Infusor!!!

Question.. Unless water conservation is a prime consideration,,,I just wondered why you would pick this machine over a WPRE6100, which, as I've discussed in previous threads, is the exact same machine as far as the drive system goes, but has a conventional agitator and is NON-Energy Star rated...

    Amana ALW880WH Top Load Washer

Good luck,,, Good luck with this model. Yeah, the old tub seals. I bought a set like this new when Montgomery Wards was closing down in late 2000. I got 6 years out of it, before I'm assuming the tub seal went bad and fried the motor. All I know was it was smoking and there was a puddle of...

    GE Washer Lid Switch

Or just order a spare If you can't find something from a hardware store to work, just order a spare from an appliance parts store. The part number for the magnet is WH12X10276, and is priced on the GE website at $5.50. Probaby can be bought for less at a local store.

    The BIG Question

How about the Pedestals ?!?! I wish someone could explain why they charge $200-250 or more for just a piece of painted sheetmetal, with a drawer, to set these front loaders on?? For the cost of 2 pedestals, you can buy a decent top loader complete. These have GOT to be a gold mine for the...

    GE Hydrowave with Infusor

Forget this machine ,,IF,,you want a machine that has the Hydrowave system, and is a TOL, and STILL fills to the top, and has a deep 2nd rinse, with a conventional agitator, the ONLY machine that does this from GE is the NON-Energy Star model WPRE6100GWT. Go buy one while you still can, before...

    Newest of GE top-loaders?

Any Brand I think I would be leary of any model of any brand that that carrys the Energy Star rating in a TOP LOADER. At least check it out throughly so you won't find yourself owning a machine that doesnt do what you thought it would. Some lower line GEs still arent Energy Star rated and would...

    Newest of GE top-loaders?

Forget any Energy Star After doing some research on GE's TOL Hydrowave models, I've come to one conclusion, run away as fast as you can from any model thats Energy Star rated, as these machines will NOT fill to the top of the tub, and the newest model in this thread only does a spray rinse, not...
