    BobLoad™ Documentation

2 items that concern me in red arrows. I could never get those clean in the Point Voyager, even with a 10 hour wash cycle. I see gaping holes in the top rack ;) Is the top rack washed by the arm under the middle rack?

    Cold Wash Warm Rinse Cycle

Washers with separate wash and rinse selections will allow that. I can select a cold wash and warm rinse on all of my TOL pre 1980 Maytag washers back to the 1950's. All of those include a warm spray rinse, too. Advantages would be better rinsing of detergent(s) from fabrics.

    60's Frigidaire dryer

Only the Imperials had a porcelain top and cabinet?

    Best washers and dryers

"Pat I’ll show you a recent video from this channel I tune into every now and again on YouTube she bought a whole whirlpool appliance set in the last year or two and has nothing but issues with each one of them." I've seen the same exact playout on YouTube with Garbage Engineering, Samsuck...

    Somewhat nice Maytag set

I have the exact same pair, one owner, low use, who never had kids = minty condition. I did a full restore on both and installed a fully rebuilt pitman transmission with a Powerfin agitator in the washer. Unfortunately, the spray rinse is cold only and I cannot rewire/jump a warm spray rinse on...

1960s Westinghouse top loader sales promo

Westinghouse is the first washer responsible for these absurd modern day lid latches? That kind of makes me happy they're defunct now.

    GE Fliter Flo Set

Black face control panel started in 1977 so probably late 70's to very early 80's. Not sure what year GE went to push buttons from rocker switches but it was definitely no later than 1983.

    Woolite Recall

Thanks for the heads up. Last time there was a Woolite product in the laundry room, I was kid.

    Best washers and dryers

"Whirlpool is clearly ran by con artists, not by people who care anymore." Honestly, that's all appliance manufactures these days.

    Best washers and dryers

"The GE “agitator” washers are total garbage as well. Watch this review about how it tangles the clothes into knots, every cycle, no matter how it’s loaded." That's the GE washer I saw at the curb 2 nights ago. Not the least bit interested in saving, fixing, or even dissecting it. JUNK, crush it!

    KD18 Advice before purchase

These are great machines and wash like crazy when operating properly and fed the proper temp water and detergent but there's a few things required for great results and longevity. The 18 models do not preheat the water nor stall the timer during their fast wash cycles so they need 150F water at...

    Oh Melvin.. Melvin!!!!!

"It had an OOB with buzzer and would go oob if you looked at it cross-eyed." My family had a Coppertone Kenmore washer around this age and it did the same. Something happened with it not working in 1986 (details are foggy now 39 years later, I was 7), probably a wig wag or linkage, maybe timer...

    Oh Melvin.. Melvin!!!!!

It's pretty rare for those black consoles to fade that bad. I wonder if these machines were located in direct sunlight or saw heavy use.

    Best washers and dryers

"Even GE top loaders are seemingly more “durable” than many of the VMW units apparently." That's not saying much, I saw a rather new GE top load washer at the curb last night walking the dogs. Those washers are still selling in big box stores.

    Frigidaire Custom Imperial

That's the range my grandparents had in their 1963 home. Not worth anywhere near the asking price though.

Anyone know how to remove yellow staining on dishwasher racks?

A few years ago, I'd tell you to get some detergent that contains bleach (Cascade Fryer Boilout or one of their liquid detergents that contains bleach). None of those are an option now so put 1 cup of bleach in the tub on the main wash cycle and let it go to town. Select the longest wash time...

    Whirlpool Open House 1953 - 16mm

Seems you've not examined a classic belt-drive Whirlpool Last time I saw the guts of one was in 1986, many moons ago.

    Whirlpool Open House 1953 - 16mm

Maybe after spending years in a damp basement and the rusty springs break all at once during an unbalanced spin. Otherwise, it was probably rare.

    Western Auto dishwasher

Looks like the building was up for sale in 2024

    Whirlpool Open House 1953 - 16mm

"The average new whirlpool built washing machine will not require nearly as many service calls as these early machines and many of them will last in excess of 30 years when they’re in lighter use situations, in fact, I’m sure the average life expectancy of the machines coming out of the factory...
