UK market front & top loaders 195? to 1990 - theories, queries & rarities

@mike, I will try and take a pic of the leaflet later, it isn't a very informative pamphlet though. It is a 3 page fold out item. You can't see if the tub has holes as its speckled grey and is the same pic as in thread 96. It does show a pic of the wash mechanism. Cheers K

UK market front & top loaders 195? to 1990 - theories, queries & rarities

Jetamatic... I think it had a heating element in the outer tub like the Hotpoint, it mentions nothing like the Parnall set up in the brochure or installation instructions. Cheers Keith

    German / Dutch Twin Tub

@Louis, thanks for digging through the archives and finding the Easy Spindrier washer, the Lec-matic has got to be a variation of this machine, i luv the shape, like i said before its a bit “teardrop” shape. From the literature on the Lec, you could fill the spinner up for rinsing, let the...

    German / Dutch Twin Tub

Hi Austin, It does look at bit American, but it is a re-badged Dutch export. I only know this as this information and the above pic came from a lady called Faith Hinds who use to run the Laundry & Mangle Museum in Frant in Kent, I was meant to have gone there in the early 90's but never made...

    German / Dutch Twin Tub

@ Louis, Thanks for having a look, I am fairly positive it is either Dutch or German, as the seller has confirmed it was purchased while they were based in Germany but could have been an import from the Netherlands. Another twin tub which was available in the UK for a while in the early 60's...

    German / Dutch Twin Tub

Morning Guys, Not sure if you can help or shed any light on this unusual twin tub which looks to date from the late 50's to early 60's. The badge on the front says "C*ome" ?? I can't find anything on the web about the machine or company. Regards [this post was last edited: 10/29/2020-05:43]

    British Twintub Washing Machines 1959 - 1990

Afternoon Steve, I have got a feeling the Rowen was a bi-product of the Easitwin which was re-badged as the Midelec, there is no information on the pamphlet regarding the company as I think t was commissioned and backed by the Midland Eastern Electricity Board. I have checked on the wash tub...

Hi Austin, Had a quick rumage and found some techincal data on Rolls spinner, i believe its general info as opposed to a model specific. With regards to the “Pye” twin tub - i got this from a guy in Crommer / Norwich many years ago, he had, had a shop which he owned but went bust but instead...

    My new birthday present

Hi Adam, I am not sure what the knob thread would be like and will check later, As regards to the wash load I would say it would be around 3 - 4lbs, we had budget twin tubs in the UK, Rolls / Goblin / Frigidaire / Burco etc which had similar washtubs and held around 4lbs. The wash action was...

    My new birthday present

Hi Adam, Nice machine you have there, mine was used in a shop display and then was stored at the back of a shop for many years all in the darkest depths on Neu Wulmstorf / Germany. These machines have quite a basic operation, the lower knob is for the heater and when pulled out the bulb...

Morning Louis, I haven't been able to arrange collection yet, but hopefully in the coming weeks, it is a little bit more than I wanted to spend as well 230 euros, on top of the shipping it would be quite costly. I've just had a Perobot sent over from Germany which is great & works perfectly...
