Hi Steve, Sounds like a good theory, was the 1420 even deeper gap between the top surround and spin can ? On the on in the pic the gap is the same as all the other 1400’s. When dragging clothes over would it not get in the way ? Interesting, i have a parts catalogue for the 1400’s - will see...
