MS Is Killing Off Mail & Calendar - It's Redesigned Outlook Or Nothing

I'm a big fan of Thunderbird. Never  used MS versions so can't offer comparisons.

Transitioning from plastic to glass food storage containers

My go to for storage are Corningware grab its.  Been using them for close to 40 years.  They come in 2 versions - original which are heat proof corningware and a  later version which are a different material which can't be used on the stove top. Mine have glass lids, also have plastic too but...

    Gillette MACH3 Blades

Used an electric razor for years, honestly don't recall switching but been using a Gillette power proglide for well over a decade.  Tried using other razors but something about the vibration gives me a better shave.  I only shave 2 or 3 times a week, more if I'm going somewhere other than the...

Do you use heated dry on your dishwasher?

I have not used heated dry in decades.  I do keep my water HOT - 150 degree range - and they basically flash dry.  With cold/flu season I've been using Sani cycle on my KA.   A  lot depends on the machine, I often turn it on when I go to bed and stuff is still warm when I get up many hours...

Do you use a Rinse Aid?

Filling rinse aid My KA has  a little window indicator so I know when to refill. When I do I partially close the door, about 45 degrees, and open the spout on the bottle and gently squeeze to  fill the dispenser.Much easier and I get more product in the tank than with the door flat.

    Switching back to using powder

I'm planning on picking up some Tide powder if I every get out Target way. Been using Persil liquid for about a year time to change it up.

Can Haier really be so cheap?

I'm in the middle on this one.  Give me a logical dash,, no matter if it's a screen. My Volt has a touch screen but it's pretty logically laid out.  However, a cousin leased a Tesla and to me there was no logic to the setup.  Plus you had to look right to the center screen for anything including...

    Questions on two KitchenAid dishwashers

I rarely use the 3rd rack in my KA.  I removed it for awhile but put it back in as I needed it from time to time.  I just adjusted my loading to accommodate the 3rd rack.

Can Haier really be so cheap?

Most people function on their phones at this point and shove instructions in a drawer or misplace them.  Why waste paper and ink?  If you want it on paper print it yourself.

What music do you do your cooking to?

I have a mix of my Pandora stations playing on my main computer.  I feed that through the whole house, I put a ceiling mounted recessed speaker in the kitchen. I change the mix seasonally if not sooner. Mostly a mix of vocals and instrumentals, modern takes on classics - I hate listening to...

My thoughts on the Miele G7166

Funny, I was just reading Wirecutters latest DW review and they pick the Miele G5008.  They completly dropped any Bosch products from their reccomendtions. https://www.nytimes.com/wirecutter/reviews/the-best-dishwasher/

    Questions on two KitchenAid dishwashers

I have not used the dry option on my DWs in decades.  But I do not use any plastic, everything flash dries, especially if Sani rinse option is used.

    Their SQ FL Washer Died!

Those folks have problems, but they only represent a small portion of the millions of appliances sold. Yes, the manf. should take better care of them but the vast numbers of appliances out there are working fine.

    Vintage Appliance Advertisements: Part Twenty-eight

Our first color tv was a 25" Zenith in a big colonial cabinet- the same one used on Bewitched for a season or two.  If I recall it was about $800 back then, while it was remote capable my folks did not go for that option, instead used my brother and me.  Nice thing with that set was there were...

    Circulon ScratchDefense dirt cheap

I got some free Circulon cookware with my Samsung induction cooktop.  I'd rate it 6 out of 10, kind of medium weight, cleans up ok.  I couldn't pop for All Clad, but did opt for a set of good quality Tramotina stainless, $300 ish for the set.  Good weight, have a little heft behind them. Staying...

    LG WM4000HWA coming Wednesday!

I go back and forth between pods and liquid.  My stuff is never really dirty so for a mid range load I use one pod and go from there.  With liquid Persil I use 1 1/2 - 2 tablespoons. I love the steam option, it got stains out that had been around for years.     Ryne, have fun with your new...

    Favorite Bed Sheets?

Since I bought a new mattress none of my old sheets fit well, they all pop off the corners each night. I went from a traditional 6-7" mattress to a 13".  I did buy a set of elastic clips that supposedly will hold the sheet in place, but at the moment I'm using new sheets from Target that I...

    Thoughts on LG wash tower.

Here is a pic of what's there now from the listing.  At long last we have a local Costco opening in a few months  so will pass that info on. Thanks for the input.

    Thoughts on LG wash tower.

Anyone have any experiance with the LG stacked units?  My brother is moving and will only have space for a stacked  unit.  Currently there is a top load combo unit in the laundry, too small capacity for them. Standard stuff wont work for one simple reason- while my brother is 6'8 his wife is 5'2...
