Thousands is an understatement, lol. Maybe I could rebuild the transmission and not need another parts transmission. Can I buy the sleeve bearings anywhere? If not I would like some dimensions as I could make my own.

For $150 I’d say it’s worth it.

It has horizontal play, find that a bit odd as I’d assume those bearings wouldn’t go bad.

Thanks gizmo! I’m just worried that something small will go out far enough that it touches the outer tub on spin, I will see what I can do. As for the O-ring I’ve heard people say you need to be careful when putting the shaft back it as it can damage the O-ring, is there a special way to do it?

The tub spins now! All it required was me to the the transmission while the motor was running (very dumb idea I suggest you don’t do that) and now it spins very freely. Now I just need the mounting stem kit.

If Maytag was bad, so was whirlpool! If any company is bad it would be whirlpool, they never really got anything right imo, hung suspension on the Belt drives and a plastic outer tub on the DD! Don’t get me wrong, I like whirlpool.

I’ll try and refurbish the top of the transmission the best I can, I have the LAT 9800 that I could look at for reference, I’d assume they would look the same when the agitator is removed. If the bearing is leaking (don’t think it is), I might replace it. The machine overall in not the best...
