    Glenn (DADoES), did your 1976 WP have the single cool-down Knit cycle as well? That feature lasted from 1973 to '79 when they revised their cycle configurations to Regular/Heavy and Knits/Gentle, and reducing to a single cool-down in PP.

    Kenmores from that time onward had the labels 'RINSE & SPIN' in Normal (later Cotton/Sturdy), and 'SPIN ONLY' in Permanent Press. This washer has them vice-versa.

    Around the start of the 60s, single-speed washers started having a SHORT cycle for delicates, alongside a NORMAL one. Starting c.1980, single-speeders had a PERMANENT PRESS I, while two-speeders had later had PERMANENT PRESS II.
