I had no idea a late 1960s model 70 washer had an enzyme soak cycle. Where's Gordon when we need him!!!

KitchenAid even came out with the soak cycle in the 16 series which was meant to use an DW enzyme product that did not seem to take off. The Lady Kenmore Combo Super Wash became the Enzyme Super Wash even if it was only 4 minutes long, but, hey, they slapped "ENZYME" on the cycle and on the control panel. Sears was not going to miss the enzyme wagon so I guess that is why this timer dial has "Enzyme Soak." Think Biz, BOLD, DRIVE, PUNCH, TIDE XK and others

As I've read in vintage Sears ads and catalogs, the Enzyme Soak cycle debuted in 1969.

These actually are 1970 models, which should help explain how the washer has the enzyme soak. One of my best childhood friends had this washer model mated with a Match All dryer. They look great with the dial lights lit, and the washer still has the Sears sticker on it. I hope they find a good home, and that whatever issue the washer has can be repaired.

The washer at this age may need a lot of work unless it was barely used, the dryer will run for another decade or two without much work, but excellent machines for someone that wants top laundry performance in a vintage W&D.
This pair would greatly out perform most other brands from this era [ without mentioning any names ] Washer advantages like Self-cleaning lint filter that actually catches and disposes of lots of lint, a WNW cycle with water suspension cool-down, Great grit and sand removal and great washing ability with the Roto-Swirl agitator.
The enzyme super soak cycle that Tom mentioned on the 1970 Lady Kenmore Combos actually had a 1/2 hour prewash where the machine used the Wrinkle Guard profile where it would sit and soak and then tumble for 30 seconds every 5 minutes durning Enzyme Soak.
They added a 2nd timer to this last great LKC so it could have the 2 1/2 hour Wrinkle Guard feature for extended care after the dry cycle so they also used this auxiliary timer for both features.

Yes, but when they first introduced the word "ENZYME" to the Super Wash, like my combo had, it was a 4 minute segment of the cycle.
