Congratulations on getting that wonderful set. My childhood friend's mother had the washer in white, and it was paired with the Match All dryer model that was available then.

Sears did have such a model. I believe it was a 1968 model, and does occasionally show up on the site. You may want to go into the Searchalator and search using the key words "Match All", which was how that dryer was described.

Whirlpool went from the metal handles to the plastic in 1978 as I recall. Kenmores went from metal to the notched handle (washer)/plastic handle (dryer) in 1972.

We have that same tile floor in our basement,...and a Maytag washer of similar vintage.

Looks like our 69 model, except that one had the black background behind the buttons, whereas the background behind the dial was the same color as the rest of the panel.

I'm surprised I hadn't noticed it before, but the washer front has a mild likeness to BD Canadian Kenmore and Inglis models of that time period. I've seen this POD many times but I had not caught that before. Happy New Year, James

This was from the later 70s like Glenn said. I believe this model is from 1978, and was the last year before the lid handle became the recessed plastic version.

DADoES It's a 1972 model, as the hooded plastic door handle was only available during that year. The 1973 version of this model had the unhooded handle that was on all KM dryers from then forward.

I believe 1972. In an earlier scene where the babysitter (soon to be victim) was loading her clothes into the washer, you could just about see that it had a metal tub ring, and 1972 was about the last year before they went plastic. The same model washer is featured in one of Dick S's photos in...
