This is a Waste King. We had one for 21 years, and my aunt had one for 29. Not sure how long hers actually lasted, as it was left behind when she sold her house.

The 1970 and 1971 models of the garage door models had the metal handles. The 1972/73, and 1974 models had plastic handles.

My sister had that exact model as her first washer after getting married. Great performer. Hope it can be fixed.

Our first washer was a 1964 Silhouette. Never got to see it as it bit the dust only 8 years later when I was 2. No pictures except a slide photo, which is buried away.

With the 3 temperature options, I would say that is an A407.

That is an A606 from about 1972 or so. My neighbor had this model, and it was the quietest washer I have ever heard run.
